Regarding the Education Topic, i think that it is everyone who is failing the system. Its the parents who cant disipline their own children, its the teachers who dont care (i dont mean all but some really dont care) and its the education system that isnt working. I have only just finished school a More...

Andre - not only did you identify Glenn yesterday, but now you identified Liam today! Are you psychic???

Jim from Jupiter - LOL at your comment about Canadians in shorts! So true that we Floridians seem to have much thinner blood. Watching my grandsons play soccer in More...

ok i haven't been this serious since the day i got married!!!

some levity for a change...

Rosemary & Cathy - glad you liked the Big Blue Planet pictures. Anybody else who would like to see some spectacular aerial views of earth, I will be happy to send if you can let me know your e-mail address somehow?

Lisa - loved Liam's latest picture. I love babies! Have also been privileged to see pics of Eden's & Mel's babies.

Amelie & Eden - where are you lately?

Baz, Can you imagine a guy from Boston commenting on grammmer.
 |  |
Glenn - thanks for the tip about starting with nine's today! That helped me achieve my lowest time yet, 3:00 flat. My dream is to break 3:00 someday, amazed that I only missed it by 1 sec. today. I'll keep trying.

So Grandma's back from NC (Hi, Kathy)
How's life on that part of the I-4 corridor tonight?

To all the Aussies,
Claire McLeod died this past Saturday in the US.
I'm glad I read ahead on the web for 9 so I was prepared for it.

Regarding education, I agree totally with Angie from Melbourne. Why is it that kids who can't read or write English are taught foreign languages in primary school. Surely they would all be better off learning the basics and leaving the art/music/lote etc to the later years after the basics were covered.
Lovely to see Liam, he is truly gorgeous. Lisa you must be so proud of him.

Hi Jeanine! Life is good here on the west coast of Florida. Wasn't the weather beautiful today! I played tennis this morning in the wonderful warm sun with a light breeze & temp. in the 70's! Sure beats NC in the 40's!!

So when are you & Glenn going to plan an Orlando SA meeting??

Who is Claire McLeod?
 |  |
Suzanne - could that be Franklin in today's photo on Tough?
Am sorry for your troubles lately, even though I'm not exactly sure what they are.
 |  |

I have to say I'm with Michael.

It's ironic to read comments about sloppy language and spelling that are pretty sloppy themselves.

And to Love Supreme:

In Boston, we spell it 'grammar.'

hi kathy got my mail?got your blue planet .i've got one already!
 |  |
Kathy,

I've put messages here to Glenn, but he hasn't responded. I'm at the south end near Tupperware.

Claire McLeod was an original daughter on the show from Oz called McLeod's daughters on WE tv about a cattle/sheep station in South Australia. They are just showing year 3 here and they are in year 6 there.

hi a-one how are you ..seems to be engrossed

To Victoria from Queensland,

They say it's much easier to learn foreign languages at young ages, and that once you are bi-lingual it becomes even easier to add more languages.

Of course when I went to school here in the states in the 60s and 70s, I was taught some basic planned More...

Jeanine Orlando
pleased you are enjoying one of our highly rated television productions. You have a lot of catching up to do if Claire has just died. But please enjoy as it doesnt lose anything from Claires absence.
 |  |
Jeanine from Orlando,
I had no idea who Claire McLeod was until you explained. Obviously I don't watch McLeod's Daughters. Survivor - Exile Island started here last night. I remember Kathy talking about it starting in US a few months ago. We are a bit behind here in our tv viewing - only on More...

So that bearded fellow yesterday was Glenn?
 |  |
I'll bet Number 96 isn't on the air there anymore.

That was 'interesting' to a small town girl when I was in Sydney in 72-73. Couldn't believe that was on at 8:30? M-F nights.
 |  |
I watch Survivor (which is on hold for college basketball right now) and C in C (which went on hold before the Olympics and doesn't restart until next month). I don't watch much reality tv, but Survivor is interesting for the travel brochure effect. Do you get our Law & Order, NCIS, CSI, and West Wing?
 |  |
Victoria, I like your ideas! I've missed so many episodes of Survivor lately I don't know who's left. We have recorded them so I just need to find time to sit down & watch. Am anxious for Commander in Chief to get started again. It was on hiatus during the Olympics, haven't seen any notice of More...

11:20 P.M. here. Time for me to hit the hay. Good maeN all.

Jeanine from Orlando
yes we get all those prgrams and I enjoyed the start of Survivor last night with a couple of new twists to the norm
 |  |
Kathy,

I think C in C is supposed to restart April 18th.
The mackenziewatch.com page isn't coming up tonight.

Thanks to all who responded about education, schools, teachers, parents, the media, drugs, and students. I have thought long and hard about all of those aspects of the situation and how they relate to each other. I'm an optimist, and I try hard to remain optimistic about education. The failings More...

Kathy, No it's not Franklin, but looks like similar photos we have of him playing the violin.
Coltrane and Dave, Thanks for the words of support, always helps. There are good days and bad..just piles of stress, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Keep on thinking and praying! Hope you are both doing well these days too.

You can always cheat and look ahead on the web at www.cbs.com and drill down into Survivor from there. That's what I did when I first found McLeod's Daughters. One weekend they were doing an run of like 10-12 episodes each on Saturday and Sunday starting at the beginning and I got hooked. So I More...

Ian, who was commenting on sloppy punctuation and Grammar? Not me. I was commenting on Teaching and the education system. And I NEVER proof read. I let Michael and Ian do that.
 |  |
Oh God. They are showing Mcleod's Daughters in the US. How embarrassing! And I don't care if the spelling is on the nose!
 |  |
Baz, I have only ever watched one episode of McLeod's Daughters (my mother was staying and she is a devoted fan). I believe you can switch the characters from it with All Saints or any other so called drama. It is only the setting that changes. The stories are all the same. Boy meets girl, More...
