With school starting, this seems appropriate. Starts with an 'F' and ends with a 'K'. A first-grade teacher, Ms. Brooks, was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked, 'Denny, what's your problem?' Denny answered, 'I'm too smart for the 1st grade. My More... 29/Aug/12 12:37 AM |  |
An older gentleman was on the operating table awaiting surgery and he insisted that his son, a renowned surgeon, perform the operation. As he was about to get the anesthesia, he asked to speak to his son. 'Yes, Dad , what is it?' 'Don't be nervous, son; do More... 29/Aug/12 1:09 AM |  |
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved. 29/Aug/12 1:10 AM |  |
 Starts with F & ends with K - FLUNK for the principle. 29/Aug/12 1:19 AM |  |
OK - something useful - or not.(Useful, from DoA? Maybe.) Subject: How to separate an egg yolk from the white - Chinese style. The language in the video at the link below is Chinese. Ignore the language and just watch the demonstration. (unless you understand what she is More... 29/Aug/12 1:19 AM |  |
everyone! I didn't know there was such a thing as a tree dahlia, either. Very pretty! Speaking of icons....I keep getting a panicky message that I have (gasp!) ''unused'' icons on my desktop. Seems they need to be cleaned up More... 29/Aug/12 1:21 AM |  |
 Eve, that's one word I hadn't thought of. 29/Aug/12 1:21 AM |  |

Good Maen. We had a lovely, cool evening last night - perfect sleeping weather. I hope Plum's roofing project last weekend went well. 29/Aug/12 1:31 AM |  |
I watched the video while I was circling. I wonder how many takes it took to do it several times without breaking the yolk? I am pretty proficient with just straining it through my fingers. Yolk stays in the palm, albumen (how often do you get to use THAT word!) slides into the bowl. Easy peasy. 29/Aug/12 1:32 AM |  |

This is weird. My post from yesterday showed up on this page. Anyway -- good morning to everyone. And... we did have another cool evening and I'm wondering if all is O.K. with Plum. 29/Aug/12 1:40 AM |  |
Good Maen, good people. Lots to do today. It's a battle because everyone in the household has allergy symptoms. 29/Aug/12 1:49 AM |  |
The answer to yesterday's poozle: Cruising through life. The gentlemen have done it again! In honor of Race Your Mouse Around the Icons Day, winners, Captain J, Quahog, Greg, Wolf, Colo Jim, HalT, and Peter are presented with a not-so-speedy mouse by that legendary mouser, I. M. The Night Nurse The more you think about this one, the funnier it gets. Short & sweet, a good one. A very tired nurse walks into a bank, totally exhausted after an 16-hour shift. Preparing to write a check, she pulls a rectal thermometer out of her purse and tries to write with it. More... 29/Aug/12 1:50 AM |  |
It was Saturday morning as Jake, an avid hunter, woke up raring to go bag the first deer of the season. He walks down to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee, and to his surprise he finds his wife Alice, sitting there, fully dressed in camouflage. Jake asks her, 'What are More... 29/Aug/12 1:56 AM |  |
Let's do some MATH!! If 4 frogs lay 4 eggs in 4 days, and 3 ducks lay 3 eggs in 3 days, and 2 hens lay 2 eggs twice in two days, how many eggs will 1 frog, 1 duck, and 1 hen lay in total from the beginning of February to the end of March in a leap year? Answers to the ''Frogs and ducks and hens, oh my!'' inbox, please. 29/Aug/12 2:07 AM |  |
BTW, I will be leaving the house before turnover tomorrow. Would someone please post a poozle for me? Discuss amongst yourselves.... 29/Aug/12 2:08 AM |  |
Thanks, Linda. We're now done on the hard-to-do, damaged half the roof where the treetop fell. We had to replace more decking than Burl originally thought we would. That side of the roof is now covered in an industrial membrane material that required expert installation and had to go down in one More... 29/Aug/12 2:20 AM |  |

Linda - I think I know what causes posts to be repeated from one day to the next. It happens to me when I keep a window or tab up in my browser and merely refresh it to try to use it to for the new day's post. Once the day gets going, if you notice, the url changes to reflect the More... 29/Aug/12 2:45 AM |  |
I didn't recognise the Tree dahlia in an earlier 'hard' picture. However this picture today brings back memories of seeing one before. I think the colour of this one is exactly like the one I have seen in the past. 29/Aug/12 3:18 AM |  |
