Jeb - rather than collecting beer cans, I collect pub towels - they usually have beer/bitters/lager logo on them. For a short time, I collect shot glasses, have about a dozen or so Jim Beam/Ezra Brooks/etc. Collector bottles (even a rare Kahlua - Gray Tiki God Bottle) also Steins & Toby Mugs. More...

Jeb, my son collected beer cans for years. When we traveled we'd find unusual ones and carefully open them from the bottom (the days before pop top cans) Needed the old "church key"
When he moved out, I packed them all up in boxes. They are still in the attic. I wonder if he even remembers they are there.

Should I take the wine glass collection over to Jane's for the party & maybe a case or 2 of wine to go with. Or will the party get to wild, throwing wine glasses at walls or in fireplaces (don't think they have FPs on St. Simons - probably just fire pits on the beach).

White: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Gewurtraminer, Chablis, Sauterne or Sherry....

forgot the
Red: Claret, Burgundy, Cabernet Sauvigon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Shiraz, Pinot Syrah, Zinfandel, Alicante Bouchet or Port....

GMO - I do hate drinking out of plastic or paper when it comes to wine. Passing around bottles, how......

I do love sampling the varieties. Saturday in 45 minutes: 10 stops only about 16 tastings because several had ran out of wine before I got there - others were out when I left. While it was raining all around, it did not rain on the wine tasting.

All you Rock'n'Roll fans in Aus remember to go to Coolangatta for the Wintersun Festival! The party poopers are trying to close it down after this year so it might be your last chance!

I find that the weather is immaterial after the second bottle. In fact at my age usually after 2 glasses nothing much matters.

I would love to come along and support this festival, Grass-hopper. I like Coolangatta, so if you send me the fare I'll hop on the next plane.

Bit late here but in 1953 I was 5 and just started school. I remember the Coronation but only through Newsreels and Magazines. But the Queen did visit Australia in 1954 (I think) and everybody flocked into the city to line the streets to wave and get a glimpse of her. Something they wouldn't do More...

Shiela we didn't get TV till 1959 or 1960! Although my grandmother had one as soon as we had TV in Australia ~ 55/56! But she was in Sydney & we were in Melbourne. In 1961 we moved to Canberra & they only had the ABC which was extremely adult then. Our treat was to able to stay up to 7.30 & watch the ABC news IF we were VERY quiet & went off to bed immediately after!!!!!!

The Ostrich
A man walks into a bar with an ostrich behind him. The bartender asks for his order, and the man says, 'I'll have a beer,' and turns to the ostrich saying, 'What's yours?' 'I'll have a beer, too,' says the ostrich.
The bartender pours the beers and says, 'That's $2.80 please.' More...
