G'day mates, here's today's daffynition:HEARSAY: What toddlers do when anyone mutters a dirty word. ..And here's today's factoid:Most cows give more milk when they listen to music. (mooosic?) 03/Sep/12 12:00 AM |  |

 Bison-Ten Yell Day 03/Sep/12 12:02 AM |  |
Not much of a yeller, I am more of giving 'the' look type of person. 03/Sep/12 12:07 AM |  |
Don't feel much like yelling, bison-ten or otherwise...so I'll just quietly say Good Morning World! 03/Sep/12 12:08 AM |  |
Happy Sunday!'Bison-Ten Yell Day'? Is that a college thing, like the 8-Clapis a UCLA tradition?(maybe my next stop is to consult my friend Google) 03/Sep/12 12:30 AM |  |
Aileen, it is a military thing. I read about the bison-ten before I went to bed, so what I remember, someone came up with ten battle yells. Don't quote me, because I sort of slept since then. 03/Sep/12 12:37 AM |  |
This is from our Russian Kathy. Since she sort of gave permission, I will attempt to find her other posts. Will someone please tell the non-Facebook folks I send them a hello from Russia. I don't have time to access multiple websites on the ship's computer, so that's why I've been posting only on FB. Hope all is well with the Sudoku gang. 03/Sep/12 12:40 AM |  |
I think I have these in order. Hello from Moscow, Russia. We had a long hard trip to get here, more than 24 hours total travel time to arrive at our ship, but we have now caught up on our sleep & have been out on two sightseeing trips so far. Yesterday we visited Red Square, the GUM More... 03/Sep/12 12:42 AM |  |
The circus last night was great - amazing animal acts, especially the bears & lions!! Today we visited the Kremlin & had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe in Moscow! Leaving in a few min. for a Russian dance show. We are 8 hours ahead of EST time. Will try to write more & answer some questions tomorrow. 03/Sep/12 12:43 AM |  |
Hello again. This morning we took our last tour of Moscow with a wonderful guide named Ana & learned a lot about the history of the city, in particular the Jewish history. We are now sailing down the Moscow Canal to a much smaller town on the Volga River called Uglich. I will be glad to get away More... 03/Sep/12 12:44 AM |  |
Had a tight schedule yesterday & never found time for a turn on the ship's computer (2). The weather has been rainy & damp & much colder than we expected. The warmest clothes we brought will be worn a lot, I think! We will be traveling 1000 miles & going through 16 locks on the rivers between More... 03/Sep/12 12:44 AM |  |
Thanks for sharing those messages from Kathy/Val, Karen. 03/Sep/12 12:45 AM |  |
After the monastery tour we had an interesting program on vodka! We learned several traditional toasts & sampled three different kinds of Russian vodka. I was amazed that I could down the straight shots the way the Russians drink them with no problem!! We will have to look for some better kinds of More... 03/Sep/12 12:45 AM |  |
I have a new nickname! Last night we were supposed to have a lecture on Russian fairy tales. It turned out to be a very funny skit put on by our six tour guides dressed up in cute costumes & playing different roles. After that they called up members of the audience to play different roles in acting More... 03/Sep/12 12:46 AM |  |
We had a very interesting day today in a very small town called Svirstroy. We were invited to visit the home of a Russian family in groups of 15-16, where we were served tea & some traditional Russian food. Our hostess Tatiana spoke only Russian, but our guide interpreted for us. The weather was More... 03/Sep/12 12:48 AM |  |
OK, you are updated on our friend. Will it be tabboo to call her the Iron Curtain now?A time like this, really wish the avator was approved for her. That way you would know it was from her and not me copying and pasting her post. 03/Sep/12 12:49 AM |  |
 Since I am on a roll, I will do it. 03/Sep/12 12:50 AM |  |
Interesting picture today. That bay looks so calm. 03/Sep/12 12:53 AM |  |
The ''curtain'' story reminds me of ''A Midsummer's Night's Dream'', with an actor playing the wall. 03/Sep/12 12:56 AM |  |
Heidi, it was no problem, sharing Kathy's travels. It was either that or fold clothes. Unfortunately, the clothes are still waiting. It is a load, I sit on the couch to fold. In order to do that, I will have to disturb Shelby's, after wake-up, after that, nap. Really, hate to disturb her naps, she More... 03/Sep/12 12:58 AM |  |
everyone! Thanks for posting Kathy's itinerary, Karen. I've been following her on FB, but I know there are some Sudokuists that don't go there. For those of you who don't, did you know we have a ''Sudoku Friends'' page? Just sayin'. 03/Sep/12 1:02 AM |  |
The answer to yesterday's poozle: poison/prison deductions from Heidi and Wolf! They both figured out that ''on six feet'' referred to a six letter word. 03/Sep/12 1:10 AM |  |

Of course! Six feet = six letters. Yeah, right. 03/Sep/12 1:38 AM |  |

Here I was, thinking a six-leg insect that's also a potent drink... and grasshopper was the only thing I could come up with. Then I was stumped. 03/Sep/12 1:41 AM |  |
 everyone!!! 03/Sep/12 1:47 AM |  |
Well, it's a rare day that I stump you, Hal. Try this one: Rebus time! time+time you dough manipulation take take pets take take step step Answers to the ''Will Hal get it?'' inbox, please. 03/Sep/12 1:47 AM |  |
I don't know if Hal will get it, but Jerry won't even take a stab at that one... 03/Sep/12 2:10 AM |  |
 Hal got it. I think. 03/Sep/12 2:58 AM |  |
Thx for the Kathy posts, Karen. I'd missed a couple of them on FB. I'll add one comment from her about tennis: C'mon girlfriends - couldn't just one of you send me a tennis report on ALOT & Interbay teams!! 03/Sep/12 3:10 AM |  |
I saw that one, Keith, and debated about posting. Went against since I was posting trip posts. You did good, since she does seem to enjoy her tennis and I did not see or look to see, if there was any responses. 03/Sep/12 3:21 AM |  |
For a day, that I had planned to take off, I am getting way too much done. It is just those little tasks, that will just take a minute to do. 03/Sep/12 3:22 AM |  |
Also, learning I am not smarter than a 5th grader. First show, I had two catagories to go, this show, I should not have even started. The contestant playing now, is just whizzing right through the catagories. He has not used any cheats, or needed the classmates help. 03/Sep/12 3:25 AM |  |
