 G'day mates.Here's today's daffynition:textile — brailleAnd here's today's factoid:Tiny pseudoscorpions (about 4mm) live inside old books, effectively protecting them by eating booklice and dustmites. 03/Sep/14 12:04 AM |  |
I could have lived without knowing about pseudoscorpions. I may have nightmares later. 03/Sep/14 12:22 AM |  |
 40 years. Fraction of life as a boy = 1/4 Fraction of life as a youth = 1/8 Fraction of life as an active man = 1/2 Fraction of life as boy, youth and active man = 1/4 + 1/8 + 1/2 = (2 + 1 + 4)/8 = 7/8 Fraction of More... 03/Sep/14 12:24 AM |  |
Had to look, Kayo. Here's what I found. (I was about to give up on old books.) Pseudoscorpions are generally beneficial to humans since they prey on clothes moth larvae, carpet beetle larvae, booklice, ants, mites, and small flies. They are tiny and inoffensive, and are rarely seen due to their size. Thx, yahoo. 03/Sep/14 12:25 AM |  |
everyone! A few minutes with Mr. Google and I learned pseusoscorpions look exactly like scorpions aside from not having a stinger tail....hence the ''pseudo''. Also, ''Chelifer cancroides is the species most commonly found in homes, More... 03/Sep/14 12:28 AM |  |
 I had to look, too, DoA! 03/Sep/14 12:29 AM |  |

We are one of the lucky ones, we did not loose power. A friend in another area of town lost power most of the night, he also has a huge limb through his roof. 03/Sep/14 12:57 AM |  |
 That dog loves whoever's taking the picture. 03/Sep/14 1:01 AM |  |

Keith, I didn't know a wombat could run fast enough to have it's ears blowing in the breeze! 03/Sep/14 2:33 AM |  |
He's got 2 feet off the ground at the same time. That's definitely top speed. 03/Sep/14 2:40 AM |  |
I once had a photo of me taken when I was running in a 10K race where both my feet were off the ground! I must be as fast as a wombat! 03/Sep/14 2:55 AM |  |
 everyone!!! 03/Sep/14 2:59 AM |  |
Last night after I had gotten to bed, hubby decides to tinker around with the cable connections. Morning time, no internet!!! And I'm busily trying to figure out the problem. Finally hubby wakes and I tell him no server! I find out he tinkered with my computer and the cable connection! ARGH!!! He remembers a connection that he didn't put back together. He goes, and voila, internet!!! 03/Sep/14 3:01 AM |  |
Shosho, just one tiny change on a computer and... nothing! Frustrating, huh?(Glad you got it 'fixed'!) 03/Sep/14 3:09 AM |  |
, y'all! I can see where I'd mistake a pseudoscorpion for a tick just at a glance. I'd have to count the appendages! Glad to be enlightened. 03/Sep/14 3:54 AM |  |
Today's photo 'Don't worry - be happy!' ...and another sequential run makes me smile too. 03/Sep/14 3:57 AM |  |
Silvergal - So ya see a bug, then go find a magnifying glass, return, count the legs, if it's still there, then make the decision about whether or not to 'dispatch it'? 03/Sep/14 4:00 AM |  |
 Sorry to interupt - not. 03/Sep/14 4:01 AM |  |
Good afternoon to all! I wonder if Suki plays Sudoku? 03/Sep/14 4:08 AM |  |
DoA - not hardly! It makes a difference in HOW I dispatch them since I don't want a tick to dig into me while I'm trying to end its days. ...I have been known to capture and release 'good guys' - the bugs which I know to eat the ones I detest. Not often, but I have.... 03/Sep/14 4:08 AM |  |
I was here earlier while Keith was charging for 22. Copies Kathy's puzzle to work on and now I'll send my answers. 03/Sep/14 4:09 AM |  |
