However, this morning we'll be enjoying eggs, sausages and waffles. Hmmm. I expected Starr and -what was her boyfriend's nom de Sudokuland? ... I asked him to come up with one -- oh, yes, Quill.

I expected Starr and Quill to be up in the kitchen browning sausage by now.

Ack! I didn't expect that. I thought I was loading the page for the next person to be catapulted to p. 2. Took too long thinking of Quill's nickname. Now I've gotta go back a page and see who shot me up here?

Morning Kathy. Once in a while I go to bed early enough to be wide awake pre-dawn with nothing to do but get up and see what's happening in Sudokuland.

Don't hesitate to talk down guns. The NRA would love to have the whole country intimidated into not voicing the insanity of our massively overarmed citizenry. No other country comes close, in arms or violence. Very sad, indeed.

That picture is definitely creepy! WHAT IS the woman doing with her right hand? Does she work for the Transportation Security Administration?

When I first saw the picture (about 2 hour ago), I thought of several comments. However, not wanting to get thrown off site for inappropriate language, I decided to wait to see what Judy had to say.
I think lonewolf just about covered it. But I'd still like to hear from Judy.

Keith, Axes don't kill people - people holding axes kill people. Should we do away with axes?

I've known many people who carry guns and none of them have ever killed anyone. I've also swung an axe & come close to killing some one when the ax came loose from the handle.

Who More...

After the event in Tucson, a congressman wanted a bill that would not allow anyone within a thousand feed of a government official to have a gun. That would be equivalent to a circle of 3 1/3 football fields. On a local talk show, I asked the host - how many if he was walking down the street of More...

You've predictably regurgitated the standard NRA arguments. Nothing you said changes the FACT that the US has the highest ratio of citizens to handguns in the world AND the highest ratio of citizens to murders in the world. The two statistics are clearly interrelated.

OK ... I've resisted commenting, too ... but the glove has been thrown down ... yes, the photo is creepy ... but it's also hilarious ... and, well, I'd like to see what fills jeans that humungeous ...

Google murder weapon statistics. Over 50% of all murders are done with handguns. It goes up to 65% if you include all types of guns, way higher than any other weapon. You would probably argue too that not all drunk drivers kill people, so we shouldn't have made drunk driving illegal.

Keith - I believe the law is "Driving Under the Influence" of intoxicants. The problem with the law is that there are no measurements for drugs & that many people are not intoxicated at .08 while others may be at .06. I am sure I have driven when I was "legally drunk" More...

As to the issue of gun related deaths, everyone knows my position by now. If you don't have them, you can't use them. As Keith pointed out already, statistics don't lie, they just point out the sad reality of a society that tries to live by the rule of the gun. How does the average person cope when More...

Another thing that bugs me. When the media reports an SUV ran over the curb and hit pedestrians. Yet when the vehicle is let's say a Chevy Vega, it is reported as: a person driving a car crashes through a window (or whatever). This has been intentionally done for years in reporting - why? It is the driver not the vehicle that is at fault.

Two 90 year old men, Moe and Joe, have been friends all of their lives. When it's clear that Joe is dying, Moe visits him every day. One day Moe says, 'Joe, we both loved baseball all our lives, and we played minor league ball together for so many years. Please do me one favor, when More...

Dear Plum,
Thanks so much for the Monte Cristo recipe. I made it for lunch and used Canadian bacon in lieu of ham. It slipped around a lot so next time I'll put one slice of melted cheese on each side of the meat to glue it together. It got rave reviews.

It started out innocently enough. I began to think at parties now and then -- just to loosen up and be a part of the crowd.
Inevitably, though, one thought led to another, and soon I was more than just a social thinker.
I began to think alone -- "to relax," I told myself -- but More...

Morning all,
I wish I'd kept the link I was sent earlier this week with the gun statistics. People get killed when people have guns. And that defending yourself argument is thrown out the window when you look at who is shot by what guns!!!

A priest and nun are on their way back home from a convention when their car breaks down. They are unable to get repairs completed and it appears that they will have to spend the night in a motel. The only motel in this town has only one room available so they have a minor problem.

Subject: Why I have a gun...
The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skill is more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.
