When I first checked in today at 34 posts, the chipmunk was doing a Groundhog Day thing. The caption would come up, I'd click on it, the caption would come up, I'd click on it.......
It wouldn't let me shut the site, open another, shut Safari...... Eventually I just gave up.

We need to start another story to bring all our new members up to date. I'll start...

In the beginning, Gath created the Sudoku. And he said, ''It is good.''

And Gath said, ''Let there be members.''

And lo and behold, there appeared...

It's hard to tell with Anne's page - she joined prior to dates being added to posts on personal pages (the first on her page with a date appears on page 9 - 12 Mar 2007.) I also joined that year but had been on the site for some time (who knows how long for - probably somewhere between one and two More...

Hal and Chris - I had been on the site for months before I actually scrolled down and realised there were comments on the pages. I started playing in about July 2005, I guess it was. The first year it started, anyway.
When Gath created the Membership, I was amongst the first ones to join and get my own page.

I've just been checking the comments on the site after a busy morning. I got the puzzles done before taking my son to work (he started at 8am) then just started running and turned around when I thought I was somewhere around the 8km mark. I wanted to do 16km and the battery on my running watch gave More...

I suspect I started playing a few months after you Anne but I was a bit recalcitrant in becoming a member, and even then I didn't start posting for a while.

Hello Chris - you must be exhausted after that run. I've been lazy over the weekend as we've actually had some rain, but I did play badminton three days last week, had a walk on the beach and a long bike ride, so will try and get back on track tomorrow.

Like you Chris, I didn't comment very much at first but the first time I tried submitting a comment, it kept throwing me off. Goodness knows why. I waited a few days and tried again and was successful.

Here you go, Halt:
...and many people started playing Sudoku in the land of Aus. And Gath said, 'This is good.' The good people of Sudoku land started talking to one another and getting to know each other - even from the top side of the world...

Chris - You make my legs hurt just thinking about all the running you do. But good luck with your marathon.

Of course, no one would want to run outside here right now - we've gotten about half a foot of snow today!!!

Canuk Greg - The gals aren't that close to flying back to the US yet.

Kathy flies back Tues. April 8 because she wanted to be home in FL for her grandson's first birthday.
Jane flies to Los Angeles on Mon. April 21 and will meet up with Shosho. I'm not sure when she actually flies back to Georgia.

Please add my thanks to you June, for such a lovely day!! Glad to see you got home safely Suzy! And to all this add the excitement of meeting Kathy and Jane in 'real' life!!

Also I first started on this site in May 2005 after the first Sudoku puzzles were published in the Sydney Morning More...

I have been around since around 2005. First saw sudoku in the Adelaide Advertiser when I was doing the crossword, then went looking for more puzzles on line and found the site. It was a few months before baby Liam was born to ??? From Toronto . Does anyone remember when that was?

Hello Margaret - just enjoying a wee sip of port.

everybody! What a great day we had at June's today! The Sydney area gathering set the record for most sudokuists in attendance - 10 + Jane & me. So our new total met is now up to 43!! Both the food & the camaraderie were enjoyed by all. Many thanks to June & Ken & to all who travelled for hours to be here.

After everyone left, Ken took us on another extended driving tour of Sydney. He took us to many places I had never seen before, & he gave us more information about this area than any professional tour guide could!

Hi Anne Glad you are enjoying the port. Might join you and have one too. Gordon went to Adelaide today, so it's just the critters and me.

Kate from Sydney has reported that the site began 15 May 2005 - that factoid is repeated on Karen from Texas's (shockingly cleaned up) page. There were no dates on comments back then.
