all: U-tube video for today “LARA’S THEME” from Doctor Zhivago

I wish this only had photos from the 1965 movie & that it included the ones that I see in my mind’s eye when I hear this song: The field of flowers blowing in the breeze with More...

My gosh, I just realized that movie is over 40 years old. While it was not a musical, the soundtrack is excellent, like Ben Hurs, Guns of Navarrone, Zorba.

this is my favourite all time puzzler - see how you find it!
Three worms are playing on a sandy beach. There is Mummy Worm, Daddy Worm and Baby Worm. They're all having a wonderful time wriggling in and out of the sand dunes, when they come to a huge mound of sand. All three plunge into the More...

Dave - 50% chance of rain today - T-storms possible this afternoon (you should be done golfing by then). Tomorrow would be a better day for golfing according to the forecast.

Just got back from the Dentist myself. Tried to put on a new crown, but the lab messed up and it had to go back. It's going to be one of those days.

Debby and Aileen... gas here is $3.76 a gallon. I need to go get some so I can mow the lawn. Ugh.

They need to start making Isettas again. Much smaller than a Mini, and get 64 MPG. I used to drive one to high school. They are a blast!

Heidi - Was your Isetta a 3 wheel variety like my uncle had back in the 50's? A shell over a tricycle.

Billy, I'm curious as to where you found clogs in Fred size, and how did he get fitted? I'm also a little concerned André as to which end Fred is drooling from. Are you sure the chocolate you're giving him isn't Exlax?

Here's a really bizarre story that took place in Tampa, FL, which is very close to Valrico:

Kathy V, I wonder why she had $40,000. worth of jewelry in her bedroom. Most people have it in a home safe or safe deposit box at a bank.

Sue, I believe it is possible that many people in FL suffer brain damage from the hot sun beating down on them over many years!!! Just look at all the Floridians who had trouble voting a few years back! I myself suffer from reduced brain power, too, after living in FL for almost 22 years now!! Oh dear, what will the future bring?

Cathy - what can you tell me about soapstone? If I ever get around to remodeling our kitchen later this year, I don't think I want granite. I have lots of homework to do & opinions to check - from people like you!!

Do any of you Sudokuites do Pilates yoga?? I just went to my first class today. Wow, what a workout! It was hard, but in a good kind of way. I'm hoping the stretching & strengthening will help reduce my lower back pain.

Claude, Carol, Jane, & other tennis fans - very disappointing French Open this year with all the rain! I read that only 13 of the first 72 matches were completed the first three days.

Kathy, I have friends who just re-did their kitchen and chose soapstone. They love it! They tell me it is actually more durable than granite. It would be my choice if I ever get around to a kitchen re-do.

Eve... They look like they're 3 wheeled... the back 2 are only about a foot or so apart. I drove the smaller model: 1 bench seat, 1 door- on the front of the vehicle with the steering wheel attached to the door, standard shift but on the left hand and reversed. And it had a skylight. More...

what colour is soapstone - if it is more durable than granite, it must be pretty hard

Heidi - that is so funny - did you need help turning the car right way up again?

Actually, Martha, the Isetta was so light weight that I could turn it back over myself, or pull it out of the snowbank without help.

Martha, they have a lightish gray. As I understand it, if you choose to use a sealer, it darkens it. Sealer is not needed, though.

Bob and Mary were contestants on the Mr and Mrs TV show in January 2008. All went well as Mary got all her answers correct about Bob.
Bob's first question "What is Mary's favourite flower?" He looked puzzled, then turned to Mary and said "That would be Self Raising Flour".
Bob is hoping he will be allowed back into the marital bed in the not too distant future

Hi Martha - sorry I rambled on so long! I haven't had a CP in a long time & thought I'd go for it when I had the chance! Do you always get up so early in the morning?? Funny how some folks are early birds & some are night-owls. I'm usually one of the latter.
Heidi - I loved your More...

I only got up early this morning because my dog was having a hissy fit at the neighbour's cat - it dared to come onto OUR place and sit in OUR mango tree! I cannot convince her that it is okay - she is so totally defensive about her space. I bribed the silly bugger back with some dog biscuits (works better than yelling at her), tied her up, then couldn't get back to sleep.

Martha, my dog woke me this morning as well. He decided he needed to be outside at 5:50 this morning. I opened the door, let him out and went back to bed but not back to sleep. He came back in and, since I haven't heard him again, is probably asleep on his couch.

Now it's time for me to have brekky and head off to work (after I wake #1 son). TGIF
