Good morning to all. I just spent the last hour going through the archives trying to figure out what has been going on in Sudokuland the past few days. I'm not sure I understand the friends thing, but it looks like there are some strong opinions about it - and about the possibility of having a page to keep news/announcements updated. Never a dull moment around here!!!

Ok just time to leave you with a real stinker of a riddle - good luck - answers next week!

1:51 It's pouring here! No wonder I have a headache. The refrigerator guys should be here any second to level the thing--hopefully the doors will then line up and stop scraping on the upper metal trim piece.

Oh, my goodness, Fiona! This will take awhile...
Now where did I put my pencil and 2,000 sheet pad of paper??

The riddle will have to wait. I got to the store, realized I had forgotten my (long) list, returned home and figured I might as well eat lunch (NOT a good idea to shop for food when you're hungry!) So, I'm off again...

Sue - no wonder it looked cold there! Nice picture.
Fiona - thank goodness we have until next week (I may need a lot longer)
Heidi - so good to hear Murphy is settling in...how are you feeling today?
31/Jul/08 3:33 AM

Oh Heidi, thanks for the Murph report! I still say he'll develop an attitude sufficient to guard the sheep - ! How's the cold doing? The cough getting better? Surely with enough practice it should sound musical by now! No honestly, hopefully you're getting better!

Kathy, you are incredible! Those smilies you have in waiting are going to amaze everyone like those you have already used! I'm inspired to search for more but question is how do you predict what you'll need?

Shosho, with this group, ANYTHING you save will probably be used eventually!

Fiona - how I envy you! Please do some grocery shopping for me at Fauchon, and if you don't mind, please pick up some truffles for me at Maison de la Truffe on Place Madeleine (excuse my atrocious spelling. French is not my strong suit!)

Right now someone is trying to hijack my provider/user account, but I think the providers are onto that person.
These hacker-theives are a really inconvenient nuisance, aren't they?

I've got my Yahoo mail account hacked and hotmail too. It is not much I can do about it. Just changed password and according to mails I keep receiving they already have my new password too.

Good afternoon to all! After a few brews, Captain Fred and his wife wandered back to the harbor to bed down for the night. Says Fred, "Do you remember where we moored?"

You know, reading the posts over the last two day, this friendly friendship friend or not friend issue has made me decide that if you want me on your friend list, I'm happy to oblige, but I won't be friends with anybody. I'll be your cyber-buddy, and if you need a virtual shoulder to cry on, feel free to lean on me. In friendship (oh sorry, cyber-buddyship), CG.

Satire is tragedy plus time. You give it enough time, the public, the reviewers will allow you to satirize it. Which is rather ridiculous, when you think about it. (Lenny Bruce)

I just did a little fist-pump because I got Fiona's math riddle right! The whole reason I became a member was to answer that question. What a nerd am I...

I've been watching for a while (not a stalker, just nosy) and enjoying everyone's wit and wisdom. I enjoyed the philosophical discussion about "what is a friend?" Actually, I like puzzles that make me use my brain. Being a full-time Mom taxes my patience and our bank account, but sometimes I need a little jump-start to keep my brain running.

Fiona....I solved your puzzle! It was fun...any more to throw my way?

oh..good day everyone! Hope all is well for everyone... no more after shocks here in California!

Amen, Andre. There was a show on last night about Randy Pausch (probably spelled that wrong), the professor from Carnegie-Mellon that authored the "Last Lecture" so many people saw on UTube. He was so so inspirational and your quote reminded me of him.

JennieT - We watched that program, also! He had a wonderful "outlook" on life didn't he? What an inspiration to everyone. His wife had a great "outlook", too! I am sure their sons will grow up with the same attitude!

I sure hope so. We could use more of him. He wrote a book as well, and I'm going to try to get my hands on it soon as I can. I love what advice he left for his daughter about boys--completely ignore what they say. Only pay attention to what they do. Man, if I'd only heard that ten years or so earlier...
