 all. 05/Apr/19 12:56 AM |  |
Good Maen, good people. Tom, in answer to your question I search out a pattern to share and it involves trial and error. Instead of 'competing' for best time, I decided to suds out the simplest and most elegant solution so others could enjoy better times. (By the time I get to my solution I've More... 05/Apr/19 1:02 AM |  |
Ha! Autocorrect switched suss out to suds out. Should I wash its mouth out with soap? 05/Apr/19 1:03 AM |  |
Solve down today saving 7 and 6 for last. 9, 8, 5->1, then either 6/7 or 7/6. You'll be rewarded with a couple of good looking guys and I'm not lyin'. 05/Apr/19 1:07 AM |  |
Here's 8 in honor of that good looking California gal shosho! 05/Apr/19 1:10 AM |  |
And a cp because I haven't in a while and just to thank everyone for posting and participating and letting us all know what's up. 05/Apr/19 1:13 AM |  |
Plum, you should wash it out with suss 😉. And wow, what a neat, and rather artistic, approach to the game. I've suspected there might be a discrete set of 'patterns' for every number of 'givens' in the puzzle, with number of patterns decreasing as the number of givens grows greater. But I've not More... 05/Apr/19 1:23 AM |  |
 Everybody!! 05/Apr/19 1:27 AM |  |
Best wishes and prayers for your surgery tomorrow, Sarah! 05/Apr/19 1:48 AM |  |
everyone!I have more of a trial and error approach for solving. This is why I never use the timer. 05/Apr/19 1:50 AM |  |
Tom, Have you ever realized you could have essentially the same Easy puzzle - same blanks in the grid - but mix up the numbers used as place holders to create 'different' puzzles? That means that every Easy could be solved 1->9 IF the numbers assigned as placeholders were assigned correctly. More... 05/Apr/19 1:54 AM |  |
My best wishes for an uneventful surgery, too, Sarah. I am happy to hear you will have family looking after you. Let us know how you are doing when you can. 05/Apr/19 1:55 AM |  |
Kathy-Before I started on this approach I used to just glance at the puzzle, see my first place to fill and go from there willy-nilly. Then Joyce started commenting on how she likes seeing a solving solution unfold and she gave me the idea to look for elegance. Thanks, Joyce! 05/Apr/19 2:03 AM |  |
There's no elegance in my approach - haha! I either start at 1 with or without success; so then I start at 9! 05/Apr/19 3:27 AM |  |
I was so pleased to see Sarah's reply near the end of yesterday's comments - tomorrow can't come soon enough for her, I'm sure! 05/Apr/19 3:31 AM |  |
 everyone!!! 05/Apr/19 3:55 AM |  |
Thank you, Plum!! Here's flying your way!!! Thanks for the compliment! Flattery will get you everywhere with me! 05/Apr/19 3:57 AM |  |

I always started at one, marched up to 9, went back and did that over, then looked for boxes rows or columns only needing one. By then usually the rest was ''easy.'' When Plum started announcing the best way to go, things got a lot easier. Thx Plum. 05/Apr/19 4:38 AM |  |
everyone! Not sunny today. Hope your day is! 05/Apr/19 4:49 AM |  |
 & for tomorrow, Sarah! 05/Apr/19 4:49 AM |  |

As a numbers person I really appreciate what you're doing and why Plum, very elegant. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately depending on your point of view, I always seem to be pushed for time and I've found the quickest way to do these puzzles it to always go 1->9. It almost always means I need More... 05/Apr/19 5:23 AM |  |
Plum, thanks for explaining your process (yikes! that's a lot of work, but okay if you enjoy it). I'm more like Joyce, starting with 1, or from 9 if I don't seem to be going anywhere fast! 05/Apr/19 5:28 AM |  |
Such beautiful, regal animals! Always a pleasure to see them. 05/Apr/19 5:42 AM |  |
 I just solve a square at a time but I don't time myself. I'd be embarrassed if I did. 05/Apr/19 5:54 AM |  |
Morning all, wonderful photo of the lions.Home at last and just in time, had a downpour of rain last night that would have made getting the van across the lawn a bit hard. 05/Apr/19 6:57 AM |  |
 Peter, I timed myself... I was embarrassed. 05/Apr/19 8:51 AM |  |
