I got two more geriatric Rescue Collies today. This gives me a total of 10 Rescues, and 15 Collies altogether. 07/Jun/10 11:23 AM |  |
Good morning one and all. A long weekend here in W.A. for our Foundation Day, which isn't exactly correct as Albany was settled before Perth but the Perth landing is the one recognised. Albany was but a Penal settlement. 07/Jun/10 11:27 AM |  |
I wrote the words last night in my comment, "Old Uncle Tom Cobley and All" but couldn't remember where it came from. The words just came to me at the time. I just googled it and of course, it was Widecombe Fair, a song we learnt as children. 07/Jun/10 11:29 AM |  |
Hello Anne, its amazing what we remember sometimes isn't it, just goes to show that the cogs still work now and then. LOL 07/Jun/10 11:34 AM |  |
Just dropped Katitude and hubby at their hotel. Had a hilarious situation during lunch. Took them to the Yankee Doodle restaurant in Santa Monica. They both ordered a hamburger each. When it came they proceeded to cut the hamburger with a fork and knife. I told them that in the US we merely grab the hamburger with our hands and eat! They both looked incredulous at me. 07/Jun/10 11:38 AM |  |
LOL Shosho, as far as I'm concerned thats the only way to eat a hamburger no knife and fork for me... 07/Jun/10 11:42 AM |  |
I saw two young men next to our table receive their hamburgers. I walked over and told them that my guest didn't believe me that us American grab our hamburgers with our hands and could they do a demo? They just stared at me as they picked up the fork and knife. They then told me that they ate their hamburger with a fork and knife, too. 07/Jun/10 11:43 AM |  |
I asked where were they from? They said Norway! Argh!!!! 07/Jun/10 11:44 AM |  |
Hey Keith when I download my camera, I'll show pics of statue posing!!! 07/Jun/10 11:45 AM |  |
Oh, Shosho, you can't win, can you.Glad that you enjoyed yourselves, no matter which way you eat your hamburger. 07/Jun/10 11:48 AM |  |
we had a girl at work who eat her pizza with a knife and fork -- only deep dish in Chicago needs a knife or fork and then again - we exchange hands with our siverware ----- hockey -- 5 to 2 BlackHawks up 07/Jun/10 12:02 PM |  |
shosho - glad you had a good time with the visitors. One of these days I will get to meet some of the others from this site!!Slow day today. 07/Jun/10 12:03 PM |  |
silverware - mare -- silverware did have a sweet potatoe pie today - mmmm good 07/Jun/10 12:03 PM |  |
Shosho - I'm sure here most men do eat their hamburger with their hands unless it's huge. Some women might use a knife and fork. 07/Jun/10 12:12 PM |  |
Robert was probably taught to use cutlery in polite society (you, Shosho)! Hehehe! 07/Jun/10 12:16 PM |  |
Jamie, we were over to Aggieland in April for a wedding. Wish I had thought ahead of time to look you up, as we had some free time during the afternoon. Of course, I realize that another Texan from 3 hours away is not like someone from around the world, but it would have been nice to meet you in More... 07/Jun/10 12:51 PM |  |
 Blackhawks win 7-4! 07/Jun/10 12:59 PM |  |
 Soooo..... Where is Fiona today ???? 07/Jun/10 1:05 PM |  |
I think Fiona must be all tangled up in her riddles! 07/Jun/10 1:14 PM |  |
 Sounds about right Anne.. 07/Jun/10 1:21 PM |  |
Fiona isn't still tangled up in the kite strings is she? 07/Jun/10 1:25 PM |  |
We Aussies sometimes eat hamburgers in our hands too, but my impression/memory of American restaurant hamburgers is they're so big they're almost unmanageable to eat with hands!! 07/Jun/10 1:25 PM |  |
CP- some of the Aussie restaurants are the same, the hamburgers are so big and they come with a side of fries. 07/Jun/10 2:31 PM |  |
Shosho, glad to hear you had a good lunch with Kathi [Katitude] & Robert. I will help with the training on how to eat a hamburger, so that by the time they see Vici and Keith they will be old pros at eating burgers, American style. They fly into OKC tomorrow and will be here on Tuesday & More... 07/Jun/10 2:41 PM |  |
We used to crack up here a few years ago, when the South Beach Diet (high protein, no carbs) was so popular. You'd see cars pull out of hamburger joints, and then the buns would come flying out the windows! Watch out for flying carbs! 07/Jun/10 2:42 PM |  |
Well it's bedtime for me, have a full busy day tomorrow. 07/Jun/10 2:43 PM |  |
Well, I guess flying carbs are better than flying crabs. 07/Jun/10 2:45 PM |  |
