Good Maen all. I was going to say HI last night but when I saw that there were 7 pages already I thought I didn't want to add to that! Plus I had nothing significant to say (although that doesn't usually stop anybody on this site!!) Just doing laundry today, cleaning, maybe decorating for Christmas. Rained yesterday so we didn't get a tree yet. Soon I hope!

Jane, thanks for educating people about snopes.com. I get tired of all these emails people send me about kids with cancer, etc. Come on, people have been emailing this junk for 10 years, you'd think they'd figure it out!! The day they can actually count how many times I forwarded an email is the More...

Imagery, found in the poem presented by Debby and commented upon by Jaspar, is ingrained in most cultures. Some people tell of parapsychological incidents that link deaths of close ones to clocks stopping. My own father's watch and clock, and my central heating boiler timer some distance away, all More...

My FIL fell in So. Calif. & his watch broke/stopped. We were at Haliakula to see the sunrise. My husband triped and fell. We were all aware of the time of the sunrise - which we were hurring to see. Taking into account the time zones - they both fell at the same time.

I was 5 when More...

The dog reminded me of the time when we parked next to a truck with it's windows rolled down and its lights on. I open my door got out, asked my husband if I should turn off the lights. I put in my hand and this dog just like the one in the ute, sat up. Needless to say I did not turn off the lights.

Jamie - I don't know if you should retire. You are so dedicated and hard working that you might go bonkers when you quit! Of course, you could continue as a substitute teacher I suppose. In any case, your students and school system will sorely miss you when you do retire!!!

Linda & Dave - I felt bad exposing the O'Hare e-mail because Edward (Butch) O'Hare was a genuine hero. It was the sappy embellishment about his father's redemption that sent me over-the-top. Easy Eddie was an outright thug who ultimately got what he deserved. In any case, this is the time of More...

Jamie, my daughter would never, not in a million years, ask a teacher a question. Either in class, or during a break. Granted she's only in 3rd grade, but if I didn't ask the teacher, I'd never figure out what was going on. I understand where you are coming from though, don't get me wrong.

Angie - these are PreAP kids - the brightest math kids in the school (or should be). If they can't ask questions, they are just out of luck - there are plenty of others that will. This mom wasn't asking me a question, she was implying I hadn't done my job teaching her son anything. I have More...

Jamie - the problem I had in HS in math (especially - algebra) classes, was the teacher teaching to the lowest level of the class (these were all college prep students). This made the classes boaring and I would end up day dreaming and tuning out - the teachers names I still remember were E. Ball & A. Ball - they were not related.
