Hi everyone. Just stopping by on my way to bed, good night all. 11/Feb/14 12:00 AM |  |
G'day mates. Here's today's daffynition:pronouncement — name-brand concreteAnd here's today's factoid:Cement as we know it was first developed by Joseph Aspdin, an enterprising 19th-century British stonemason, who heated a mix of ground limestone and clay in his kitchen stove, then pulverized the concoction into a fine powder. 11/Feb/14 12:00 AM |  |

 Love today's daffynition Kayo! 11/Feb/14 12:01 AM |  |
 He, she, it. 11/Feb/14 12:02 AM |  |
Kayo's factoid has me scratching my head though. Who would grind together limestone and clay, cook it on their stove and then pulverise it into a fine powder? I reckon that would be the worst tasting loaf of bread ever made. 11/Feb/14 12:06 AM |  |
 all. 11/Feb/14 12:12 AM |  |
Good morning to all! I hope your day or evening is going well. 11/Feb/14 12:13 AM |  |

Serena and others interested. When I floated the 10 versus 15 puzzle clues for a Sunday, most of the regular puzzlers said they liked the 15. My efforts to get more people involved with only a 10 clue puzzle made no real difference, as only the regular bunch of folks participated. I will post only 10 clues occasionally, but so far the majority like the 15 clues. 11/Feb/14 12:18 AM |  |
Hello, friends! Cold, but sunny. Puzzles are the cement on this site! 11/Feb/14 12:21 AM |  |
You have a 10 inch by 10 inch cube that is made up of little 1 inch by 1 inch cubes. You paint the outside of the big cube red. How many of the little cubes get painted? Note: They don’t have to be painted in their entirety to count. Answers to my ‘’paint the town red’’ inbox please. 11/Feb/14 12:22 AM |  |

everyone! The cold is a little better, thanks for asking, Greg. Still stopped up, but at least I feel I am over the worst of it. It seems as I get older, a cold drags on longer. I once had a doctor tell me when I asked about taking a More... 11/Feb/14 2:00 AM |  |
Good Maen, good people. Prayers still appreciated. Thank you all very much. 11/Feb/14 2:07 AM |  |

Good heaven's! I think I got Serena's puzzle! In the spirit of full disclosure, hubby wandered by and gave me a hint..... 11/Feb/14 2:54 AM |  |
For decades while I was a teacher, I was too busy, too tough, too mean for a cold. Then just a couple of months into retirement, I get pneumonia! What gives? 11/Feb/14 2:54 AM |  |
Well, knock on wood, I haven't been really ill since (well not enough to have me stay in bed at least!) But now my knee however has decided to swell up, so I'm hobbling around. 11/Feb/14 2:58 AM |  |
Kathy, lots of hot, hot tea, echinacea, and zinc lozenges! Trust me you'll feel better and get well faster! 11/Feb/14 3:00 AM |  |
Now, being the sandwiched generation, must go and take my dad to the cardiologist! See you later!Oh yes, CG, you're a doll for giving us the puzzles! Even though I don't submit too often, it's not that I don't try. It's just that I'm too embarrassed to show what little my wee brain to come up with!!! 11/Feb/14 3:02 AM |  |
Let's try that again . . to show what little my wee brain COULD come up with! 11/Feb/14 3:03 AM |  |
 Karma Shosho, that's why you have pneumonia. 11/Feb/14 3:05 AM |  |
I'm not sure that I would select black bridesmaids' dresses, either, but at least all of these girls will be able to wear these pretty dresses again! That is a definite upside! 11/Feb/14 3:12 AM |  |
Serena, I think the answer to your puzzle is:- 1101001100 cubes got painted. 11/Feb/14 3:15 AM |  |
I absolutely love the word puzzles. I panicked yesterday morning when my internet was down. Luckily, it was up and running in time to work on Greg's offering. 15 is just fine and dandy with me. 11/Feb/14 3:16 AM |  |
