My traveling family experience was great fun. I had family here....son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and hubby along with the cutest kids in the world...then we all drove to NC to stay with granddaughter and family for the Easter holiday. Lots of baby cuddles for an extended time. It was wonderful!

Let me give Silvergal a big for taking over my puzzle duties. I will be back to my Tues-Wed (or Wed.-Thurs., as the case may be) puzzling next week.

Silverteen is a licensed driver! Initially she was upset about her results - she didn't do as well as SHE wanted, but she passed with room to spare. The morning was complicated by (get this) a half marathon being held over part of the course, lanes blocked off, volunteers attempting to direct traffic without knowing how to direct traffic....

She had points taken off at two intersections because of all that was going on. Any other Saturday, she wouldn't have had to deal with that. As both a runner and an experienced driver, that's unnerving on either side of it.

She admitted she was stressed about the test for 24 hours beforehand. But after a Starbucks Cinnamon Dolce Frappucino and engaging with a friendly dog there, her spirits are back up. We're going to go pound the pavement together in a few minutes.

to all & congratulations to Silverteen. Getting a driver's license is a big accomplishment for a 16 year old. My almost 16 year old granddaughter (birthday on April 17) does not feel ready to take the test yet.

I smiled when I read Anne's comments about Shaun the Sheep yesterday. Anne, I remember learning about him when Jane & I were at your place last year. I loved those sheep at the back of your house & how they ran over to greet us when we arrived!

Must be ''in the air.'' I've got a 16 year old grandson with his learners permit and on the verge of going in for his test. Seems just last week he was ... but some of you know the rest.

It's funny, Keith, I remember so well when it was my daughters taking their driving tests. Now suddenly it's my granddaughters!! Imagine you feel the same?

Aww, I hope Shaun the Sheep will be released in the US. Silverteen as a little thing loved the Shaun short films on one of the kid channels she watched. The whole Wallace-Gromit franchise is pretty amusing.

Everybody.
Silverteen on getting your license on the first try! And in the midst of road closures, too!

I remember getting my license...way back when. My dad took me and then had me drive home. I wasn't sure about the driving home bit because it had More...

1:19. Good morning everyone. The reason I'm on a little earlier than normal today is that I need to leave shortly for the Canberra half marathon. The start isn't until 7:45am but with road closures, finding parking, etc. I don't want to leave anything to chance!

And things are complicated timing-wise as the band I play sax in is playing at 11am, so I need to be finished, home, showered and changed to be at the gig to set up by around 10:30am. It's going to be tight and I need to run a PB to help things along!
