G'day all!
A bit of both.
It's the weekend! (Need I say more?)

Just got to thinking... old habits die hard. Take for instance - the weekend. If you are retired, why should it still be something you look forward to? After all, everyday is potentially 'the weekend'. But I'd say that most retirees still differentiate those two days the same as they did when working. If retired, what do you say?

all.
I agree, Shiela.

everyone!
I think that's true, Shiela. I think it's also true that retirees no longer take ''vacations'', they just take ''trips''.
I have a super busy ''weekend'' coming up. Sometimes I wonder why I sign up for all the stuff I do. More...

Even though I'm retired, I still look forward to the weekend because it's when my sons and their wives aren't working and have time for me to visit. Since I volunteer teaching, it's during the week days and my yoga and dance classes are on the week days, too. So weekends are a slow down for me and visits!

I think that yearning for the weekends depends upon your situation! During the 3 to 4 summer months at our mountain cabin, we never know WHAT day it is! Cabin residents constantly ask each other what day it is! But here at home, all of the kids and grandkids are working or in school, so More...

Kind of what Judy said, except, for me, it's year round. Weekends - just another day. They are actually frustrating because, invariably, I'm working on something where I need a part and all the 'getting places' are closed...

Just read all the comments, and have to say that I'm in the category of usually not knowing what day it is, so weekends don't mean much.

Also knowing when it's the weekend is important for your health. Drinking to much during the week is bad for your health

We all seem to be pretty much the same with weekends. Recently, when Dad was being assessed for care requirements the doctor asked him what day it was and of course he didn't know. Afterwards I said to the Doctor that I couldn't have answered that either. He looked at me as More...

We are going for a drive this long weekend to a place called the Old Coast Road Brewery. Its about 30 minutes away. Never been there before so we will try their lunch menu as a precursor for visitors if it turns out to be OK. I will have to buy some of their product to bring home. With two sons in the gendarmerie it would not be good to be charged with DUI

With nothing better to do than surf the net whilst SWMBO is at the gym I cam across a segment of one hit wonders. I can remember most of them, enjoy them and sing the words (except for those which are instrumental only ). What does this say about my music choices or am I just a lucky charm to those on the list?

I shall try and send in your completed puzzle this week Wombat and not leave the hard copy in the tray on my desk. I know how much hard work goes in to creating these puzzles and feel guilty if I don't encourage your continuance by having a go
