I'm a snow lover, too, Vici. Although my hubby has come close to strangling me when I have expounded on "Mother Nature's mantle of ermine" while we are out shoveling the aforementioned "ermine".

I'd bash you over the head with a shovel myself, Kathy!

I'm considering getting him a "break-away" shovel, Judy.

I thought all of you snow bunnies had snow blowers these days ... ??

My hubby wanted a snowblower that would get the job done quick, so he got the biggest one he could find. Good idea, hubby! It ended up bring too big for me to handle!

Or did I mean 'quickly'?

Gotta go exercise... and I don't mean shoveling!

That's a GOOD thing, Shiela!
We do have a snow blower. It's great for the big ermine, but we don't use it for the smaller stuff. 6" or less, we're out there with the shovels.

Yep, Batty ... you are really good at shoveling it!

Snow? I think we took the children to see it once when they were little. I have seen it on TV and in the movies.

You don't know what you're missing, Dorthea. Frozen fingers and toes, chapped face, runny nose....ah, that's the life!

I haven't had a cold since I started taking flu shots. I missed last year shot but didn't get one anyway. Got this year shot.

Why do we marry young good-looking boys and find we are married to old haggarded men?
13/Nov/10 3:24 AM

Hi Kathy,

If I was married to you, I would not even have thought about strangling you when you were out clearing the snow and expounding on "Mother Nature's mantle of ermine".

I would be inside the house in the warm and dry.

Door's locked, I've got the key, Neil. Have a shovel....

Probably for the same reason(s) men marry a Marilyn Monroe and wake up next to a Rosie O'Donnell.

In response to your question above - for the same reason that men marry attractive, $exy, good-looking chicks.

They then transform into Snow Excavation Xperts (S E X).

I never, never leave the house without my keys and my lockpicks.

Bye to all.

I shall never think of snow shoveling in the same way again, Neil!

Good afternoon to all! Well look at that! He's getting married, and he already realizes what to expect. Hand out, begging for spare change to pay clothes and shoes for his wife-to-be!

Keith, I saw your comment about driving with me in Ottawa, and I saw HalT's and Phantom's as well. I think I did fine once you found my bifocals under the front seat, and how was I to know the left turn signal was faulty and stayed on for over 15 minutes? I warned you I was colour blind, so running those three red lights shouldn't count. I'm an excellent driver!

Hey Kathy et al! It's too damn early to talk about shoveling snow! Think about the fun, not the pain.

Shosho, from yesterday - what an amazing man your father (and son) is. I guess attitudes then are similar to now, that a Japanese face brought suspicion - just as a Muslim face does now. If only we could learn thelesson to judge by actions, not physical description. I hope your family is now accepted and honoured for their actions as they should be!

Learned something today - you can actually add a post to the previous days' postings! Wrote the above post to Shosho thinking it would automatically come onto today's, but when I got to the bottom of the posts there it was! A trap for the unwary.

Getting ready for Thanksgiving?

I thought this sounded good! Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing ingredient -- imagine that. When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like me, who just are not sure how to tell when More...

Lurker - I read your post last night - when you don't think someone will catch your post - you can always send a private message to them - this way they will get your message.

Sho sho is a wonderful person - I have met her and admire her. Her family has given a lot.

for all the birthday wishes on my page. I don't post much these days, but I do check out what you are all up to fairly regularly. Not sure if that counts as lurking. Have a happy day, everyone, whether its your birthday or not.

Missed my early morning walk as I had to shift about 100 pavers before the workmen arrive to take the excess ones away. We are spring cleaning our yard before the heat makes it impossible to do anything much outside. Next on the agenda is the veggie patch. The pumpkin vine left over from last year has gone feral.

No snow in Dallas today - just a heavy rainfall. Headed back to the real world tomorrow - will try to post a couple of grandson pics for those interested - probably Sunday or Monday.

Just came here to do the puzzle, and then to say goodnight to everyone.
I can't get used to the different time-circumstances. There's Rolanda saying 'good morning' and here's me saying 'good-night'.
In my UK 'egg', it's after midnight
