G'day mates, here's today's medical daffynition:
High Colonic - Jewish Religious holiday

..And here's today's factoid:
Human kidneys weigh about 142 grams (5 ounces).

Does that mean mine weigh more?

And does a person who is 6'5' and weighs 250 pounds have the same size kidneys as a 5' 1' person who weighs 125 pounds?

Shiela: 1. maybe, 2. no.

(Never thought about this before)
But... if the factoid has a particular weight for a kidney, is it an average or an actual when it says 'about'???

Thanks, Kayo! I guess that answers that!

Here are two possible answers to yesterday’s puzzle.

SPOON – spool – stool – stoop – SCOOP
SPOON – swoon – swoop – stoop – SCOOP

Congratulations to Canuk Greg and Peter for figuring it out. Aileen came close with 2 steps. The prize today is a spoon for all your scooping needs.

Good ponder-issuing factoid, Kayo!

Will anyone other than Phantom notice if I sneak in a math puzzle?

If you reverse the digits in Deborah’s age, you obtain her grandfather’s age. As it happens, his birthday is tomorrow, when his age will become twice Susan’s. Find both their ages.

Puzzle . The two female names in the puzzle are the same person. Pick a name or make up your own. The typo was in the book and I didn't proof it any better than the editors.

The answers to yesterday's riddles are

Sir, I bear a rhyme excelling
In mystic force and magic spelling
Celestial sprites elucidate
All my own striving can't relate

The number PI, the digits of which are illustrated by the length of each word in the riddle.

Ooops didn't go far down enough! Will try it with this one

What does man love more than life?
Fear more than death or mortal strife?
What do the poor have, what the rich require,
And what contented men desire?
What does the miser spend, the spendthrift save,
And all men More...
