Don't know why your story, Kate, made me remember this. It was San Francisco, and I arrived first at a 4-way stop (we don't yield to the right in the U.S.; it's first come, first to proceed, and yield to the right if in doubt). A young man deliberately forced the right-of-way after I had proceeded More...

I also had a car try boxing me in on a highway. The car was being driven by three young men. They saw an old woman in an old van late at night, and ... Well as they tryed to force me off the road, I just began to play chicken with them. Ever had a 3/4 ton truck try to hit you. They slow down and got off the road.

Kate, I remember that Granville day like it was yesterday.

I am another chicken who does not watch scary movies. Have never seen the need myself. Life throws up enough of its own without adding to it!

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle, Judy has her own page!!!! I haven't been on site for so long and when I did just log in I see that Judy is a SM!!! Wonderful, it is nice to put a face with the name, no wonder you are a HOB, just one look at the other half, no further explaination needed! I too will join the SM ranks again soon, just need for the overtime pay to kick in.

The yuckiest thing that has happened to me was very recent. Don't know if it qualifies as scary but it certainly worked to give me the shakes!
It happened on Wed night, on the way to the Melbourne meet. I saw a plume of brake smoke ahead of me in the line of the oncoming traffic. Just as I drew More...

I also choose not to watch horror movies (Both Duel and the Omen scared me sh___less). What scares me most is movies like "Thin Red Line". Hubby wanted to see it so I tagged along. I had to leave the Cinema 3 times during the movie - thought I was going to throw up, the fear was so palpable. I actually became very sweaty, shaky and nauseous.

It makes you shaky Gail when that happens doesn't it? Luckily it didn't seem to affect your sociability at the dinner.

For some of the ones that haven't forgotten about me since I am so seldom here I have update a photo on my page of the kids at a Christmas party (that tells you how often I am able to get online!) And for those that know about the remodel and new floors we have been putting in I am going to put some before/after photos on my page, hopefully tomorrow.

This event must be too long or have something not acceptable in it! I'll try again in bits!
A very scary nursing evening I had back in the 70's. Another 12hr agency job I had one night was at Royal Prince Henry Hospital in Sydney's eastern suburbs. I'd been told to ask at the gate where to park More...

We walked along & he showed me the treatment room, linen cupboard, pan room, etc as we walked along the corridor, at last door to the left he knocked on and then introduced me to 2 more guards, after which he gave me a few words of warning re: locking myself in the office if I didn't have to be More...

Found the problem!
I remember it was daylight when I arrived at the hospital so it must have been a 6 or 7pm start. About 2 or 3am a RN arrived so I could go to the cafeteria for a break. They were short staffed (the reason I was there!) which was why it was so late. She also gave me all the More...

Don't know how you got through the night Kate!!

Thanks Kate, the nurse in you just can't help it!
No, I'm alright, I have a very practical outlook on life, can't dwell on what didn't happen.
Kate from Melb, same thing, because it thankfully was a non-event, I certainly was not going to let it get me down or ruin the mood of the evening.
