A B-17 "Flying Fortress" just flew over my house.

It is at the airport today, giving rides. Wow, it is big. I understand there is only about a dozen left that are still flying.

Hi Eve, I envy you the B-17 "fly-over". I have to settle for a VHS tape. At least the sound track is realistic. I did see one flying in the Columbia River Gorge some years back. It was Awesome to watch (and hear). Yes, it was below the top of the gorge. Kind of like More...

Rob's Dad flew B-17-G's during World War II & was a prisoner of war after being shot down just before Rob was born. Luckily, he was released & came home safely. I arranged for Rob to take a ride in one of the touring B-17's when it came to Lakeland, FL in Nov. 2004. His Dad died in 2002, More...

Yesterday I received an email story about Molly - a pony that survived Katrina. A couple of photos are in my Gallery. This is the story that goes with the photos:

I've downloaded a couple of pictures on my page of the "Mother's Day Tornado" that hit St. Simons on May 11. These pictures were taken just before the funnel reached the island. We live about a mile south of where the tornado touched down and didn't even lose a leaf from any of our oaks. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but there was plenty of property damage.

Kathy, those wild deer are fun to watch and be close to, but take a hint from bad experience. Where do deer live? Where does poison ivy grow? A dear friend of ours, wearing a halter top and shorts, put her arms around the neck of a semi-tame deer to have her picture taken. The poison ivy rash More...

So many people did not see the tornado coming - while they were in bed. So much damage has been done by nature of late. (I know the mental devastations of Earthquakes.) Then you add terrorism to the mix, the drug cartels (assasianations in Mexico). It is hard to smile, let alone laugh. But laugh More...

I considered joining the "bling bells" for my crocs...but then I realized- I don't need help to alert others that "i'm coming", since I already have a "band in my bones"- my joints snap, crackel, and pop so much, that i'm a walking bling bell... infact that's the More...

Jeb - thanks for the warning! I never would have thought of that. I'm not sure if the deer at Fripp would allow us to get close to anything but their mouths! Jaime tried to pick a tick off the neck of the one in the picture with him, but the deer didn't let him.
