I've been away for a while. Things have been really busy with the family, at work and just in general at home. I have stopped in a few times, just to try to keep up with what is happening with all of you, I don't know how well I've done on that. I hope that every one is well. I look forward to catching back up.

I agree Dorthea, wet hiking boots can be very miserable!

Jill: I well remember one hiking holiday in the English Lake District. Then, for one whole week it rained every day without stopping. The worst times were pulling on socks and boots that were still sodden wet from the previous day. However in such situations it is pointless to avoid pools of water - you just plough straight through them.

This is a repeat picture of mine from two years ago (Gath seems to be recycling old photos). My husband took this of our son at Thousand Island Lake in the Sierra Nevada in July of 2005. They were camped there with the Boy Scouts for a couple of days. It's an 8 mile backpack to get into the location.

Anne, so happy about the rugby. Was in a pub in Wimbledon on Sat night watching the match between England and France - what a vibe! Unfortunately I was on the plane last night but got updates all the way.

Hi everyone. That puzzle is an oldie but a good one! How's the Autumn weather? Our Spring's getting warmer. Beautiful day yesterday, still 29*C (84.2*F) at 5pm, today is was already 21 (69.8) at 6am so I'm assuming it's going to get quite hot! I play tennis from 10am to 12md so we'll need a few stops for drinks!
