We had some pretty spectacular weather roll through last night. ''Spectacular'' might be the wrong word. Torrential rain, high winds, thunder, lightning......
I was at the ball park when I looked at my phone and saw what was More...

I see Arachnid has posted a literary puzzle for our enjoyment. I'm going to see what I can come up with without the help of Mr. Google.....

Kathy, saw the prediction of that power wind storm, but then never saw any follow-up reports; happy you only were wet - surely seemed as if more dire things might have occurred!

Well, without Googling, I knew, and have read, 9 of the books.
With Googling, I recognized 4 of the authors, but, have not read the books.
2 I have never heard of, but they look interesting. I may have to look into them.

Yes, Joyce, we seem to have missed the really bad stuff. The big plus...we didn't lose power!

Another fun Arachnid poozle completed (with a little help from Ms Google) I recognized all the books, read some of them, but a few of the author's names eluded me...

I was just about to leave for the grocery store yesterday when the sky turned an odd shade of doom, bright but dark gray. There was an advisory on the radio to get indoors and stay away from windows. It was so oddly foggy that the lightening was dimmed by the clouds. Then came pounding rains. More...

It has been one of those days when I am stopping in the middle of one thing to work on the next. By the way, I almost nabbed FPOTD at 10 am sharp when the phone rang and distracted me. I just 'came back' (9 1/2 hrs later) to find my unposted 'Good Maen, good people.' on the screen.

I guess that means I should now say .

I think Kathy picked the right word: Spectacular. It was a spectacle. Without getting close to any windows, I did watch the storm for a while, but, thanks to one of my medical conditions, I am sensitive to barometric pressure, and eventually I conked out and slept through the rest of the storm.
Thunder resumed around 3 am, though, as if to give us its parting shot.

Wow, Sarah. Doesn't sound like safe driving weather. Did you heed the advisory and postpone the grocery run?

The clouds eventually broke apart and the sun finally is free to shine across southern Michigan. I suspect Shiela and her installation had something to do with the weather clearing. She needed it to be dry, so the rain stopped!

Beautiful day in SW West Australia. Clear blue skies, no breeze and about 26°C. My 96y.o. baby (Dad) is sitting in the sun watching me mow the lawn and weed the path. Every time I go near he asks for a coffee. Must think I'm an Espresso machine!! Days like this I am more than ever glad to be alive

That's a good result Arachnid. I'm jealous, but it isn't really a competition, only a poozle/puzzle

Wombat - no competition from me mate . Just something I do to keep out of trouble. However a person has said that they can't be the first to reply as they are asleep when I post. This is amazing . How anyone can go to sleep whilst waiting for the puzzle to be posted is beyond me!! Perhaps Modafinil?

Even though I missed 33 I'm going to steal Dad's beer which he has left on the table and gone to sleep lol
