Why did Shiela's Maen get a pretty blue underline and ours didn't?

Tat-da-da-dah! Thanks, John!
By the way, when my 4-year old grandson sees me he says, "Tat-da-da-dah!"
(Not sure how to spell it, unfortunately!)

I've never noticed before that there was a "prize" to the first person each day to use a variation of maen. I was just wondering. I now KNOW. Thank you. (I'll ask again in a year or two.)

Thanks for all the well wishes for my Gramma.

According to my aunt, an hour ago, they still hadn't needed to do surgery of any kind. She's very weak, but they're pumping her full of fluids and helped her sleep last night. She is a remarkable woman.

Well, remember my leaking kitchen sink? It's finally (knock on wood) not leaking. We've had catch pots underneath the sink collecting gallons of water for over a month. Too many times the catchpots have either overflowed or gotten knocked over until we were growing icicles on the outside wall of our house on the other side of the wall from the sink. This can't be good.

Congrats on the non-leaky sink, Plum. Will keep our fingers crossed!

Question, Plum...
Did you get it fixed or did it just stop leaking on it's own? I'd be a bit skeptical, if the later.

My polar bear is an offering to the Gods in hopes of more snow. We are having our false Spring right now (and it looks like it will continue for about another 10 days). The good news is I am getting my yard cleaned up so the bulbs can start to sprout up and our solar panels are generating power - More...

Just talked to mom.

Gramma is in good spirits this morning. They are considering a pacemaker, as one side of her heart just doesn't want to cooperate anymore. Her words "if they can fix it so I'm good to go, then lets do it".

They think this is also the reason why she More...

Shiela, my crocuses are under 2 feet of snow and I'm quite sure I will never see them again. I dare Mother Nature warm things up, melt the snow and prove me wrong (tee hee)

I will keep you all posted on Gramma. "Well isn't that something" is what she says when she learns that people from around the world are thinking of her and praying for her.

Good Maen Sudokuland!
Angie - your Gramma sounds like a real gem! I will pray for her.
Vici and Sheila - Here too the crocuses are buried deep and the snow keeps falling.

Angie - so sorry to hear about your Gramma, but I'm glad there seems to be a solution to her problem. I'm also glad she's keeping her wicked sense of humor. Prayers and hugs to you both.♥

Chocolate lovers: just read this.
(Reminded me of yesterday's comments.)
Chocolate contains phenylethylamines, a neurotransmitter that releases endorphins in the brain and makes you feel giddy. The reason people love chocolate so much isn't just chemical, though. The sweet flavor More...

Angie, my mother has a pacemaker and seems to be doing well with it. (She'll be 95 this year.) Best wishes to your Grandma! Sounds like she's a 'keeper'!

Plumbing story: Thought it was a pinhole in the sink basin because I traced a hard stream of water to a single spot on the underside of the sink. Spent time shopping for a new sink but wondered since no hole was apparently visible and patchable from inside. It finally turned out to be a richochet More...

Oh, and while we've been shopping for a new faucet, we've been climbing under the sink, turning water supply valves on and off through the day so the water wasn't leaking so constantly out of the faucet (that was now leakier than it was before we tried to fix it). Hence the great amount of water spillage.
