G'day mates. Here's today's paraprosdokian:
"Behind every successful man is his woman. Behind the fall of a successful man is usually another woman."

National Beer Drinking Day.

In heaven there is no beer.
That's why we drink it here (right here!)
When we're gone from here,
all our friends will be drinking all our beer!

I had to make the cupcakes to show my daughter how to make Grandma's special mock cream. No point making mock cream and not having anything to put it in. CP there is ALWAYS a cuppa going here.

I'd already turned off al the computers when I noticed it was nearly midnight so the quickest to get up and running was the iPad Shiela. Never mind, it's just another aspect to the puzzle and I don't mind going a little slower than normal.

Ah, again, the same language, different words. I learned that phrase when someone was commenting about my Mother's "thriftiness". I believe the phrase was "She could squeeze a nickle until the buffalo evacuated." And she could. I was at a luncheon after a funeral with TM's More...

Dishes done, dogs and cats taken care of, I'm fed, I think it's time to quilt. I wish I had a bigger table so I could lay it out all at once.

Good Maen, good people. Not feeling so desperate today. The congestion is looser. I've read 3 books in the last 24 hours and did some grocery shopping, cooking, straightening and cleaning, but not much of any of those. I think groceries should have benches so people can take little rests as they go through the store?

More news from Oz:
Doctors at The Alfred hospital in Melbourne, Vic., Australia, were treating a patient for alcoholism. Doctors were "stunned" to find his blood alcohol level was 0.271 percent, even though the 45-year-old man had been in the hospital for three days. They More...

Conflicting reports about the weather, one says 110 with heat index another says 110 without heat index. Either way it will be hot today.

Finally got the name stakes for the plants, went ahead and put them with the proper plants {I hope} before I forget which were which.
I had to dodge the sprinklers or get wet, getting wet helped keep me a little cooler.

Good mAen, all. Sue, it sounds like a good day to stay indoors and enjoy air conditioning. Going out in that heat can be dangerous.
OTOH, it's only 68°F, windy and overcast here today, so I'm staying indoors and enjoying a quiet day w/ the g/f, the dog, the TV and the sudoku sits on the computer.
