Only two brave souls attempted the riddle from yesterday. It was an easy one, too, if you remember who submitted it. The answer was a nail in a horseshoe.

Good morning, everyone. Vici, did you get in on any of the Amgen Tour excitement yesterday when it was snowed out of Tahoe and Truckee?

Good Maen, good people. Heidi, that nail on the horseshoe had me stumped. That was a good one.

Morning! Tsk, Karen...as long as one of those gadgets doesn't include the often disliked Ute! Gail, you're probably in bed, but you must have a very strange machine having the problem you mentioned at the end of yesterday. I wouldn't mind that problem at all...as I mentioned the fact that all the clothes around here seem to live on the floor.

(And I tried to guess, I just didn't have an answer to send in.)

My nephew is finding it hilarious that I, too, now only possess a driver's permit and wants to know if we can go and take our driving test together. I've been letting him do a lot of the driving because I'm not really sure I'm allowed to drive with this thing. I could just see having to ask More...

Hey Linda - yes, when I saw the weather, I thought, "No way they can pull this off now!"
...but I guess they are on their way. Still so early in the mountains to count on good weather - I remember that it snowed here a couple of years ago on Memorial Day weekend!

Shannon, I have found that children are like puppies...they do best if you start training them young. TM is an example, however, that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I bought my boys divided hampers and they learned to divide their clothes into darks and lights. They weren't perfect about getting clothes in, but they were divided!

Nice grab Sarah Beth and I definitely agree. I told my brother it's amazing that they don't do this behavior when they're at my house. They will step up to what is expected of them. It won't be perfection, but he's got nowhere to go but up. Of course I know kids behave differently for others than for their parents, but they are basically good kids despite having half wifezilla's genes.

Hello, everyone!
I'm returning to 'grandma duty' tomorrow for a few days, so I slept in this morning!
(I wonder - Can you really store up sleep?)

Wishful thinking... Maybe the grand-twins have figured out which is day and which is night!

I agree with Sarah Beth, half way. My girls can put most of their clothes in the hamper, but Man cannot, even standing right beside the hamper. I have tried for 22 years to train him, and he just cannot do it.

I cringed watching some of the plate clearing/cleaning last night, but heck, most of their stuff is already chipped.
Wifezilla tale: but this is how the kids have learned. Thanksgiving dinner and wifezilla got banished to clearing linens/wiping off the table as I refused to have her near my More...

Shiela, the answer is no, you can not store up rest. I have tried. Things were with MIL this weekend and I felt totally restored, MIL returned the Things Sunday afternoon, by bedtime I felt so exhausted again.
Have not mentioned lately, but I have a great MIL.

Same problem here Karen, but he cleans a mean toilet/shower stall so I try not to complain (not that I'm all that successful at it). Oh Sheila, wanna trade? Pre-teens don't have that cute baby smell...

HI all! Heidi, I got the 'nail' bit of your riddle, but not the horseshoe bit...honest! Can I have a quick spin in your buggy?

Took me a minute too Fiona, how are you? #2 of your quiz (not the answer, folks) is making me think of Don Quixote...or maybe it's just because I've been tilting too much lately, sigh

I'm sure if Cervantes had written the story of Sancho Panza and Dirk McDuff, it wouldn't have had quite the same success...
