HalT, I think it's a red jumper on a fisherman, & not a red cap on the pelican!!!!

Good photos, Kate. Pelicans look awkward on the ground but they are so graceful in the air.

And I can attest that cows also like licorice.

Good night people of the world.

Anne(V) it's a long story but in short, I used to look after some cows when I was a lad and I gave one some liquorice one day. From that point on I spent my weekly pocket money buying liquorice to feed her habit. She refused to budge until she had her liquorice.

Home at my friend's after a great lunch get together with Mo.
20/Oct/12 5:41 PM
 |  |

We were joined for a little while by Gath, Kym, Flynn and Sienna. Poor Flynn was not at all well, and was very good and patient when all he wanted was to go home.
20/Oct/12 5:44 PM

So there was Mo, Gail and Mr Gail, CynB and Mr Cynthia, Kay and Liz from Melbourne, and Tricia and I from Canberra.

It's bad when you have to go interstate to meet your neighbours.
20/Oct/12 5:48 PM
 |  |

Tricia and I live very near each other in Canberra, but hadn't met until today.
20/Oct/12 5:49 PM
 |  |

Some folks went straight home after the lunch, some went to visit tourist things with Mo.
20/Oct/12 5:51 PM
 |  |

I said I would head off home as -wait for it - I needed to have a nana nap.
20/Oct/12 5:52 PM
 |  |

In fact I didn't quite come straight home.
20/Oct/12 5:53 PM
 |  |

I stayed to do a little shopping. Wanted to get a couple of things as a thank you gift for my friend.
20/Oct/12 5:55 PM
 |  |

Of course, in an unfamiliar place it took a while to find the two shops I wanted.

I returned home stuffed, and still haven't had my nap. Too late now. I'll just drool in front of the tv for a while.

I've seen it before, Peter, but well worth watching again!! I'm not an in-your-face royalist, but my Dad was an Officer & a Gentleman of Her Majesty's Royal Australian Air Force, so was taught to be respectful1. The only person who was above her was the Pope!!!!!!!!
20/Oct/12 6:18 PM
 |  |

Sounds like you all had a great time, Mo & CP!!
20/Oct/12 6:20 PM

Thank you all it was a great day. Lovely to meet up with Gath and Kym and their family, CP,Tricia, Liz, Cyn and Col, and remeet up with Gail and Scott. The sun shone we had good food and a 'few bubbles'.Am now going to put my feet up and if I can stay awake watch the match. Now who shall I support? My host country I should think or Peter will never speak to me again.
