Another day in my classroom, preparing for the new scholastic year! At least the tables are ready for the kids. Well, 20 of the 24 will have a place ready for them. 4 will have to sit on the carpet!Due to budget cutback, our class numbers will increase. Now if they'll give us the furniture to accommodate them, we'll be ready. 21/Aug/09 12:11 AM |  |
Ok visit my picture gallery to view an interesting sign board... 21/Aug/09 12:17 AM |  |
I found out that our API (academic performance index) went up from 922 to (I think principal said) 945! We're in the top ten elementary schools of LA. Great considering we have a huge public housing project next door to us. : D Hard work, but OMG they're worth it! 21/Aug/09 12:23 AM |  |
Anu - that sign board is hilarious! Thanks for sharing.I have put up a new youtube on my page - it's a hoot. Saw a similar video several years ago by the same fellow (Matt) - but it wasn't available on youtube, so I couldn't post it. Now I can...and did! Enjoy! 21/Aug/09 12:24 AM |  |
Good Maen to all. Shosho, I guess the days of class size reduction are over - at least for a while. Appy - funny sign!! 21/Aug/09 12:24 AM |  |

 What a beautiful building! 21/Aug/09 12:33 AM |  |
Shosho - congrats on your rating - excellence! Especially without support. I fear you poor teachers are so on your own. 21/Aug/09 12:34 AM |  |
shosho, congrats on your school's API. I know that takes a lot of dedication and hard work. The little school where I worked is a Blue Ribbon School, which took lots of diligence from everyone involved. Like you said - it is worth every ounce of the effort. 21/Aug/09 12:34 AM |  |
Anu - funny sign. I'm guessing it originated in Oz. 21/Aug/09 12:36 AM |  |

What? I have to empty the blancmange out of the tub?? Great Vici! If you click on one of the others, he explains how it all came about.Shosho, it is good to know there are teachers like you in our schools. Thank you for your hard work and efforts. 21/Aug/09 12:45 AM |  |
Shosho - congratulations! We are all very proud of you!!! 21/Aug/09 12:49 AM |  |
I agree with Judy--I've been to some beautiful churches, but Sacre Coeur is my favourite. 21/Aug/09 12:51 AM |  |
Kathy - here's (some of) what Wikipedia has to say about blancmange: "The historical blancmange originated some time in the Middle Ages and usually consisted of capon or chicken, milk or almond milk, rice and sugar and was considered to be an ideal food for the sick." Yum!!! 21/Aug/09 12:53 AM |  |
Recovered from bathing the cat... a few nips but generally O.K. Cat is still mad though. 21/Aug/09 12:58 AM |  |
Betty - Our cat bites us when she's in a GOOD mood. I can only imagine what she'd do to us if she were mad at us! 21/Aug/09 1:05 AM |  |
Congrats on surviving, Betty! I bath my cat, too, but not until summer is over because she'll just go back out and roll around in the red dirt. During the summer instead of being black and white, she is black and orange. 21/Aug/09 1:11 AM |  |
What a beautiful building! Good Morning to everyone. 21/Aug/09 1:11 AM |  |
Anu, enjoyed your sign. Vici, loved your Youtube. Gives me an idea for a new hobby ... except I don't dance. 21/Aug/09 1:39 AM |  |
2:45 Hi to all. Hello Anu x I like the idea of your cat being mad Betty...I bet she smells nice now after a honey bath. Thought for the Day: Three best to have in plenty - sunshine, wisdom and generosity. 21/Aug/09 1:46 AM |  |
He just keeps turning his back to me every time I speak to him. Will take his food, though, so he'll get over it. He does remember the sink still today. 21/Aug/09 1:50 AM |  |
Ouch, Betty--cat scratch fever? Cats seem to have long memories, except when we're trying to keep them off the tables ... 21/Aug/09 2:03 AM |  |
