Where is this outing, Shiela? Are there things you could do during the day by yourself - museums? art galleries? I'm sure you'll have a good time in the evenings when you all get together for dinner. By the way, I've always enjoyed the people-watching at casinos. And most casinos I've been to have great music in the lounge if you do decide to join the women during the day.

Good luck, indeed, to Karen! I guess she was successful in getting the childcare issue settled so quickly! Hoping for the best possible outcome!

Why am I still up? Had to finish reading a book.
Act of Treason by Vince Flynn. Not a bad read. Easier to finish it than go to bed wondering what happened.

One more time!

As I walked along the path,
I saw something with four fingers and one thumb,
but it was not flesh, fish, bone or fowl.
What was it?

Answers to the "I HOPE you didn't see flesh on the path!" inbox, please.

People watching might work, Jane. One other wife has said she's not a gambler, so I may have company. Think if I go somewhere on my own it would be regarded as anti-social.
But funny that the two added wives who didn't want to golf have more weight than two wives who don't want to gamble. Think More...

There will be a video, Captain. I missed it, too.

Hollywood Squares:
These great questions and answers are from the days when ' Hollywood Squares' game show responses were spontaneous, not scripted, as they are now. Peter Marshall was the host asking the questions, of course..

Q.20. It is the most abused and neglected part of your body, what is it?
A. Paul Lynde : Mine may be abused, but it certainly isn't neglected.

Q.21. Back in the old days, when Great Grandpa put horseradish on his head, what was he trying to do?

Well, aren't you lovely people so sweet. Noope, my head is still in tact. Canuk Greg's surgery is today. Mine is still pending, the doctor's office was supposed to call yesterday afternoon, with the details, but didn't and nothing so far from them today.

Now, I am venting.
Sheila, my two cents is that the newbies, should follow the oldies. I was never interested in gambling, until I wrapped my fingers around that fat ball and pulled down and those little bells went wild and the lights flashed. My first ever pull, on a nickle machine, won me $500. It is a really good thing, nickle machines are not around here.

The doctor I sent for your care is a patient man, Karen. He'll wait.

Shiela, if you go to the casino with the others, just say you'll meet them back at the front door at such and such a time. Wander off as though you were going to find a machine and skip out. Who says you have to be joined at the hip?

Great idea, Kathy! It's in a lake area.
May be near a great place for a hike!
Karen, I'll take your personal experience into consideration.

From my Sister - regarding the Eagle banding

Here are some pictures from this morning's eaglet banding. Quite impressive. The young man, Julian, is a trained arborist, and went through training from the Botanical Garden through their "at risk" program for teenagers. They're More...

Good afternoon to all! (I need Rayray's toothless Smiley.) Home, swollen, bruised, quite sore, flying high on pain-killers, and a sore throat from that tube they force down your windpipe. Ice packs galore in use. Thanks for all your well-wishes. It will be a few days before I can have a nice solid meal. Cheers!

I'm just now catching up with yesterday's news:
Good luck to CG and Karen!

I am rereading Melvin Bragg's "The Adventure of English" the history of the development of the English language. Not as dry as some might think. Quite a bit of the English history. Interesting to learn the background of words we use.

I'm in a quandry here. I went to the eaglet banding pictures site and was rather disappointed. Many pictures seemed to be repeats. And I had a problem following the sequence of events.

Did I go to the right place?

Don't feel too sorry for Greg. I have sent nurse Sharon Sharalike to help him through his recovery.

How's Sharon working out for you, Greg?

Now, don't anyone tell Captain J. He might be a tad upset.

You went to the right place, Hal. There were a few photos in there from last year. They said they would correct that. Also, there should be a video of the whole event by tomorrow.
