G'day mates.
Here's today's daffynition:
Brown’s Law: If the shoe fits, it’s ugly.
Here's today's factoid:
The process for making silk cloth was first invented by the wife of the Yellow Emperor, Leizu, around the year 2696 BC. The emperors of
China wanted to keep the silk-making process a secret. Anyone caught telling the secret or taking silkworms out of China was put to death.

The idea for silk first came to Leizu while she was having tea in the imperial gardens. A cocoon fell into her tea and unraveled. She noticed that the cocoon was actually made from a long thread that was both strong and soft.

The dentists office called while I was eating breakfast this AM. I had been having troubles following a crown prep. She wanted to know if I was still planning on going forward with my root canal on Monday. This is the same (very) young lady who failed to call one day to check on me, More...

Of course. Apparently, the Royals can play baseball. Now the series is tied 1-1, and might turn into a barn burner. What fun.

Things have settled down here in Ottawa. Police have decided there was only one shooter involved. The shooter was an ISIL/ISIS sympathizer. I think the general feeling here is disbelieve, as this has always been considered one of the safest places in the world. All members of Parliament met at the More...

I guess there should be concern everywhere regarding home-grown ISIS supporters. This is something that will continue everywhere as they use the Internet and social media to encourage radical behaviour. We march on and try to remain the best peace keeping nation we can be.

Young men seem to be very susceptible to this extreme violence whether they join a radical group (as in recent cases - Ottawa, Montreal or Boston) or acting on their own (school shootings, mall or theater shootings). Is the moral compass of our world so far gone that they have no direction? I've More...

I don't know that it has to do with the moral compass of our world. ISIS followers are fanatics. In their twisted minds what they do is acceptable for whatever reason they choose.
(The school, mall, theater, etc., shooters are/were mentally ill. No sane person resorts to killing because of a perceived slight or rebuff).

Oh dear, Kathy, it's the same bunch of fanatics who decree fatwa (death sentences) on authors of comical stories, like Salman Rushdie. I had to read the Satanic Verses to see what the hullabaloo was all about. I just found it to be a funny story. I guess that I wasn't seeing a 'higher' level! Bushwa!

If you want to read a hilarious sacrilegious story, you should read Neil Gaiman's The Good Omen. Just a story about what happens when you lose tract of the AntiChrist. The angel and demon who by the way were good friends (living on earth for centuries will do that) and used to the cushy life (who wants an apocalypse) are frantically trying to find the child.

Still thinking of you and your fellow countrymen, CG. I hope yesterday's events and the car incident in Quebec the day before are coincidental rather than parts of a bigger terrorist plot.
