everyone!
Sunny & mild today!
Returned yesterday from a mad-dash tour of Ireland and Scotland. What lovely countries and people! Saw three things I've always wanted to see... the Giant's Causeway, the Cliffs of Moher and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo!

2:24. Good morning!

The day we were at the Cliffs it was spattering rain, a wee bit foggy and very windy. I am glad to say I did not get blown off the cliffs, however the weather seemed to add to the atmosphere of it being a one of the earth's wild natural places.

We were told by our guide not to walk on the stones of the Causeway - which we promptly ignored - due to the possibility of 'being swept over earlier than planned to Scotland by waves crashing down on the rocks '. Now tell me... why would I go to the Causeway and not walk on those spectacularly volcanic-formed natural steps???

Oops! It appeared.
My computer problems have returned. I think we are at the point of calling in the pros. I shall see if I can convince hubby of that.
It takes forever to get connected and then everything just grinds away and comes up sporadically. Soooo annoying!

Shiela, I think I have mentioned on one of our trips to the Cliffs of Moher, we were denied access to the second level because of the windy conditions. There really were ''blow you over'' gusts of wind.

Had to research The Q - a very unique apartment building; the sixth-tallest residential tower in the world and is the tallest building in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere.

RIP: Ed King, 68.

Ed played guitar for Lynyrd Skynyrd from 1972 to 1975 and from 1987 to 1996. He co-wrote one of the band’s classic songs “Sweet Home Alabama.”

He was also a member of Strawberry Alarm Clock.

Some more unusual facts re. The Q:

Q1 Tower's form was inspired by the Sydney 2000 Olympic torch and the Sydney Opera House.

The concept was based on studies of wind, movement and tension in which a series of ribbons wrap concentrically around the tower form and hover above the More...

Good mAen, good people. I am nowhere as exotic or unique as the Devil's Causeway or the Q but I have traveled far enough east and south to finally be in the foothills of the Appalachians again. We've had just passed an interesting place some of you may want to armchair travel to today: the More...

There is a much clearer photo offered as a link from the Wikipedia article Joyce quoted, but even in that clear photo, I do not see the feature mentioned, 'gradual twisting of the aluminum-clad ribbons.' I guess I need to go to Australia again to see it in person.

It is astonishing how close to the shore all the buildings are, leaving a most unattractive ...well I don't even want to call it a beach.

I'm that slow on LTE, Keith. Just passed the real-gold dome of the West Virgian state house in Charleston.

I did, I beat him to 33. Now we just have to keep posting and get him to 66. Jump on the bandwagon everyone.

Many Australians agree with you Sarah. What was an excellent beach has been trashed by these tasteless developments. The other side of Brisbane is the Sunshine Coast, a more tasteful development.
