G'day mates. Here's today's daffynition:

Good Maen, all! Just want to pass along some exciting news: Sacky is coming to the States in October! We'll be touring the East Coast pretty much from top to bottom and hope to catch up with a lot of our Sudoku friends along the way. I'll post more info as the itinerary develops!

That will have to be another trip, Keith. This is basically going to be a long road trip!

We'll be spending time in Richmond, DC, New York, New England (peak fall foliage season), Niagara Falls and then back down south to the Florida sun! When I posted the news on the Sudoku Facebook page, lots of people responded, so there will be plenty of opportunities for Sudoku gatherings along the route. Maybe you and Lynne can come East. In any case, I'll post more details as the plot thickens!

Attack Kitty is all fresh this morning, though, she is not making wise decisions. One, she did not learn her lesson, yesterday, when she thought it would be fun to play with Shelby Lou's tail. Or, it is not wise, to walk under Man's feet. I do not think, he can hear the bell.

A spoonerism is a pair of words that can have their initial sounds switched to form new words (horse cart & coarse heart). There may sometimes be one or two connecting words (kick the stone & stick the cone)

The dog we are keeping, is worrying me. She is not eating or drinking. There is not too much concern, I know she will eat, when she is gets hungry, but the thought of telling MIL, her dog is not eating, or that her dog is sick, because she is not eating, is not a conversation I want to have.

Unfortunately, that is too soon, Keith. Sacky arrives on September 30th, so we probably won't get to New York until about October 5th or 6th.

Where will you be staying in NY, Keith? I'm thinking of renting a condo thru VRBO, but if you have any suggestions for reasonable accommodations, they would be welcome. I haven't been to New York in years!

Now, it is thundering and I have a shivering dog, at my back and a shivering dog at my feet and a girl, that is having problems finding something to do at my side. Thankfully, the attack kitty, is occupying herself with her breakfast.

Guess, that is my cue, time to get this house moving and grooving. As Grandma would say, idle hands are the devil's workshop.

We know very little about New York, and are going to bite the bullet and stay in a hotel by the theater district, see a play (don't know which one yet-they all cost an arm and a leg), do the typical tourist stuff, and get on a cruise ship on the 16th to Quebec City.

A little search revealed why I had so much trouble with dinornis. Apparently, it's extinct. The bird equivalent of archaic English words.

We've done NYC a couple of time pre-kids. We always stayed in Tarrytown and took the train in. Driving in huge cities is very low on either of our to do lists.

Definitely not going to drive in N.Y. I'll leave my car at my niece's home in Springfield, NJ and take a bus into New York. Keith, have you checked Restaurant.com or Groupon for theater tickets? They often have some incredible bargains. I think Sacky and I are going to see 'Jersey Boys'. I More...

Finally a day without a whole lot to do list!!! Just have to take my dad to get his carotid artery imaged and that's it! Well, that is if my son doesn't require help with the machinery we rented to clean the exterior of the house.

The only way to get around New York City is by cab or subway. The subway can be an experience in itself. Now that I think of it, so can a cab ride!
