Good Maen friends! Finally catching up on my sleep...back from my dad's and he is doing great. He is cleared to drive and fly now and will be on his own by this Saturday (my brother is with him right now).
Sure missed first page antics - glad to be back!

The only good thing about the drought this summer is that I haven't had to mow the lawn too many times. Of course, at the rate we're going, we won't have any lawn to mow. We REALLY need some rain.

Thanks Captain...so nice to be back home on my schedule - and relieved my dad is getting back to his life!

Jane, we are very lucky to have green lawns this August. For some reason, we have been having rain only at night recently - leaving beautiful sunshine for the daytime!

I'd rather not have the arguement in the first place, Karen!

Karen - Retirement is going well so far! I am amazed at how I seem to be busier than ever, however. We are planning a trip for a few weeks starting next month. We plan to go visit a friend in Maryland, then up to Niagara Falls and into Canada (Fall foliage!). We are undecided as to our next More...

Good afternoon all.
Today there has been a hurricane across the outside of my conservatory - from me power-hosing it clean.
Now my back feels as if it is broken in several places and there is still a lot of mopping up to do.
Just now I have been catching up with yesterday's jokes - mostly More...

Nothing against Kalamazoo but New Hampshire in the fall is devine Glenn. Mr. Cee, you outdid yourself last night with the 'tongue twister' jokes. So glad I wasn't drinking anything while reading the halitosis one!

Now that I read that more clearly, you said 'your days in NH', so you know that! Where abouts were you?

We lived in New Hampshire for eight years - plus I was born and raised in New England. If we went to Kalamazoo we would go via the Upper Peninsula and Canada, so I think the foliage would be just as spectacular. Either way, I will have to be careful about any political discussions. Both my brother and my brother-in-law are very liberal college professors...

We lived in Concord. My wife was the Associate Librarian at the New Hampshire Historical Society for eight years and we lived across the street from Judd Gregg's press secretary when he was Governor. After almost twenty years down here in Florida, I can't understand how I survived the Winters up there! Even stranger - how did I survive the Winters in Minnesota when I was in college there???

Good Maen everyone from another beautiful day in S. Oregon .... Wouldn't ya know, I wash my truck and the next day we get a few isolated showers ... just enough to move the dust around.

We had so much snow and rainfall this past winter that my seasonal creek (that flows into my pond) is still running! Usually it dries up around the end of July and I have to use a hose from time to time to keep the pond full. I'm thinking I won't have to do that this year. Although the creek More...

That's a great way to get it to rain, Dave...wash your car or your windows!
Wonder if any of that is headed our way. We did have some clouds over us yesterday, though.

Hey my little friend! When are you back to school?

Glenn, congrats on your retirement. Enjoy the first of many trips around this great country of ours. Don't forget "out west" in your future travels. We have a lot to offer which includes low humidity.

Vici, glad to hear your dad is ok! I always worry about my dad when he's docile and agreeable. Last time he was that he was in insulin shock and the time before he had a subdural hematoma in his head and had an emergency surgery to alleviate it.

Vici ... you do usually get our left overs and clouds are probably all you can hope for. Being in the mountains, you probably get more local thunderstorm activity which I think is all we got yesterday.

It's when he's his stubborn cussed self I no longer worry about him. He's himself!
