Happy Boxing Day, Wolf and everyone!

Yesterday was a miserably cold and rainy Christmas here in a Santa Barbara. So someone decided it would be a good day to decorate the trees in one of our parks with dozens of colourful scarves, to be taken by anyone who might need one.

Good morning all! Tom, what a lovely idea. I imagine that the lucky scarf recipients were delighted!

It is sunny but cold here. I have replaced Christmas Bat with Bundled Up Because I'm Freezing Bat.

There seem to be two theories of the origin of Boxing Day.
One is that December 26 was the day centuries ago when lords of the manor and aristocrats typically distributed “Christmas boxes” often filled with small gifts, money and leftovers from Christmas dinner to their household servants and More...

Well, after spending half of yesterday in the ER with my brother, I finally got some sleep! Lil bro ended up with a tear in his esophagus, and was pooping and vomiting blood. It took me several hours of trying to convince him to go to the ER. He kept protesting that he was hosting the Christmas brunch. Like heck!

Luckily I gave him a bucket to hold because he used it several time on the way. I just wasn't up to cleaning the blood out of my car. He was swiftly moved into the treatment cubicle! Now after thorough examination and two staples in his throat to stop the bleeding, he's resting. And they tied him down with two IV of blood transfusion. Seems the careless kid lost a lot of his blood.

So glad to hear that your brother is OK, Shosho! Yesterday certainly became a memorable day for all of you!

BTW ... if your brother is a ''kid'', your parents were spectacular physical specimens!

Sounds like a good time now for you to sleep, eat, and enjoy the Season! Take care!

Wow, Shosho, I am so glad you were there to insist that he go to the ER!!! I have noticed that guys are sometimes a bit too 'I'm OK!' to their extreme disadvantage at times!

I hope he heals quickly, shosho.

Sharon, thankful that you got your brother to the ER and they were able to stabilize him! BTW, I will always my sister's 'kid sister' even though we are at advanced ages. The 'baby' of the family is evermore the 'baby'.

Morning all !
Kathy, our Boxing Day is spent putting chairs and furniture back where it belongs then relaxing and having leftovers so no one needs to cook.

Thanks, Amelia. I was curious if it followed the U.S. tradition of ''after Christmas sales''. Of course, the U.S. seems to have ''after everything sales''. I expect to see ''A leaf falling off a tree sale!'' at some point.

Once again I offered the family leftovers to take More...

Kathy, your family resembles a great horde of locusts descending upon your table! But a very nice, handsome, and loving hoard!

There is a lot of food consumed, that's for sure, Judy. I look at the table before we sit down and think ''We can't eat all this. What was I thinking?'' They prove me wrong every time. Then they take anything left away. The good news is clean up is a snap, and they handle that, too, bless More...

What a good thing you were the bossy sister, Shosho. Your little brother is very fortunate you were insistant. I am happy to hear he is on the mend.

In OZ Boxing Day is typically a relaxing type of day except for those who undertake the physical activity of Boxing Day . An increasing trend is to have a second, but mini Chrismas Day for those who, for one reason or other can't make it to the Christmas Day lunch. More and more the lunch has More...

Boxing day sales here rival your Black Friday sales.

Kathy, left overs were offered but they had enough. Everyone brings food on the day so most of them will only take what they like best. As far as the sales are concerned I avoid them at all cost. LOL

Another Christmas done and dusted.
Nice and sunny here and a nice sea breeze.
At my favourite cafe Chop’N’Chill.
Hope everyone had a happy Christmas and Boxing Day.

I hope all here had an enjoyable holiday break. My fat gut is now severely enlarged. I think Linda bought up the whole veggie section of Spudshed and every turkey standing still. We gave a lot of food as 'take homes' but still have enough for a couple of re-heated dinners.

I will post another quiz tomorrow. I know it doesn't have to be on a Saturday with answers on a Tuesday but Wombat started a tradition which I am happy to continue.
