I think an example of sarcasm would be for someone to use the word 'disirregardless' right about now.

No Mo, spring arrived, but it has yet to leave. Very cold for late May, with frost warnings the last two nights and lows of around 2. The tulips *and other reminders of spring and summer) are in full bloom DISIRREGARDLESS!

Greg, our winters always seem long but yours.. . . I love Canada but I wouldn't be able to exit the house for most of the year.

Jamie, you cannot retire until you find #3.....

Who says today's kids aren't smart? Well, some of them are!
At a high school in Texas a group of students played a prank on the school.
They let three goats loose in the school.
Before they let them go they painted numbers on the sides of the goats: 1, 2 and 4.
Local school administrators spent most of the day looking for #3.

mAen all!

While I prefer a sunny day with blue skies, this photo does capture the subtle beauty of a gray day.

I once said to a friend on this site that I thought the difference between irony and sarcasm was that irony cuts across ideas, whereas sarcasm merely cuts. That about says it for me.

Disregardless, of the topic of the moment, it is now going on 2 PM and still no news. Darn it.

I am off to see my doc, hopefully there will be news when we return.

The photo intrigues me because of the darkness of the beach. That is either from the low sunlight or/and (I suspect) from black volcanic sand.
Even if that isn't one, jet black beaches of volcanic ash are wonderful.

You've been to the northern beaches of Bali, Rayray?
27/May/09 5:19 AM

They are often quite devoid of tourists too!
27/May/09 5:21 AM

Amazing as they are tourists disregard them in favour of white or golden sand. Rather like jewellery, gold, platinum and silver are prefered to japanned black and Jet

Mo (from one of your earlier posts) do you know how to make ginger beer? This is something I'd like to learn.

Glinda I will do a little search for you for the recipe.
When I was a kid you would be given a 'mother' plant. This would be in a jar and would be half of someones ginger beer yeast base. You would then feed it with ground ginger and sugar each day for several days. I remember my mother adding More...

Thanks! I found a company that will sell a kit, but you have to keep purchasing the ginger extract from them. I was hoping to figure out a way to make it using my own flavor base.

OSTRICHES WITH SELF-INFLICTED BLINDESS

To humans once it seemed quite clear -
that the earth was flat and not a sphere.

We thought the heavens moved round the earth -
and not the sun - that provoked mirth.

When a central sun he did suggest -
Galileo was locked in More...

Glinda, check the receipe in this link:

Mo: Is this similar to your Mum's receipe?

CG: like the #3 and also ice wine!
Glinda: well worded distinction
27/May/09 6:16 AM

Yes CG that is as near as I can remember.
Glinda try that one. Only difference my mum would have used fresh yeast.
