I'm beginning to think that the media is even worse than politicians at pandering (which is our fault, of course, we want it). I have not heard one thing about Iran in 36 hours.

Can you imagine the historic notion that a momentous revolution failed because potential allies were preoccupied with an entertainer of dubious character?

I take the western media, along with its conformist partisan opinions, with a pinch of salt - mostly to supress the awful taste.
Iran and MJ are two subjects where the media close ranks.
MJ's personality (and he was considering converting to Islam when all the abuse 'hoohah' was started) is More...

I am not anti-Muslim in any way, Rayray, but I am hoping that my government (whatever that may be), and the rest of the world's governments, may do whatever it takes to keep some nutcase, religious fanatic totalitarian dictator from launching a competent nuclear weapon (the little ones, we shouldn't worry about).

I am of two minds about what you say, Ian.
It is a critical issue.

Good maeN all!! I hope everyone has a good nite/day...Jerry, Greg, Ian: Thanks for the comments that make me laugh AND think...I am sorry that MJ passed away, but our national news here in the States make Farrah Fawcett & Ed McMahon seem like an afterthought!! What is the perspective "on the other side of the pond"?? Just curious!! Our news here CAN be very biased!

There were several (on different stations) hour long programmes about MJ last night and FF didn't even rank a mention in the news bulletin.

I bought a deodorant stick today.

They said 'Remove top and slowly push up bottom'
