Good morning to all. We had rain yesterday, too, Eve. And thunderstorms last night. What an odd spring we're having.

Mornin' Sudokuists!
Well Dorthea - what a lyin' page!
Like Linda and Eve (makes sense as we are in the same weather pattern area) we enjoyed more rain here, too. I think today we might see the last bits of this series of storms. Fingers crossed!

Smokies look like nice hills. I'm sure they are as beautiful as the Rockies or our little California hills.

Partly sunny. A chance of showers...and a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the 60s. North wind near 10 mph.

Yes, Aileen, it is a beautiful photo! Not my photo, but I painted that scene once! The background hills ended up looking like waves, so I pitched it! Will try again sometime, though!

Dorthea, from a "drivers" point of view, Cali has some stretches of Interstate that rival any others.
Donner Pass, the Grapevine and Tehachapi come to mind. The major difference is the California "Hills" start at a lower elevation...

Good Maen, good people. Goat kids are so cute. We have Hero & Gem, Licorice & Parfait and Truffle and they are all frolicking, gamboling, nibbling and climbing.

Jerry 58 years ago, I drove the pass from Utah to Denver. That was scary. I would prefer to drive the old highway 17 from San Jose to Halfmoon Bay. It was one-way with pull out for passing.

I meant it was one lane with pull outs for passing a car that you had just encountered face-to-face.

everyone!

Love that photo! Wonder who took it?
At 10:30AM the temp here was already 90°!

I have received only two answers to yesterday's puzzle, so I'm re-posting. Come on, people! As the newly anointed (or should that be annoyed? ) PUZZLE FÜHREN, I expect a tad more participation!

Well, I guess it would be helpful if I actually posted it! lol

A man is trapped in a room. The room has only two possible exits: two doors. Through the first door there is a room constructed from magnifying glass. The blazing hot sun instantly fries anything or anyone that enters. More...

Denny

Plum check out Tough.

Dorthea - those California hills include the Sierras which have the highest point in the 48, only a few miles from Mojave, the lowest point in the 48 (below sea level).

50+ years ago the route from 395 through Yosemite, was really scary. Not so bad today.

Eve - it's the funniest thing, but many "nanny" goats have beards and horns, too.

We disbud our goats and when we shave them for exhibition, Burl takes the ladies' beards and makes sumi paintbrushes with bamboo handles.

Burl grows groves of bamboo on our property, More...

Kathy are any of the answers correct? Like #1

HI all! I see Kathy needs no encouragement in hogging the riddle seat, so will leave her to it. There comes a time when one must learn to delegate! I officially have one more day to work and then it's holidays for a few months!!! Now I can plan our summer vacation! Wonder where we'll go this year?!!
