I tried turning off auto-correct, but that was more frustrating than having it on. The worst correction, IMHO, is when I type if I get of and vice versa - annoying and frustrating. 03/Apr/14 6:42 AM |  |

In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes. When you pulled on the ropes, the mattress tightened, making the bed firmer to sleep on. Hence the phrase...'Goodnight , sleep tight' 03/Apr/14 8:43 AM |  |
It was the accepted practice in Babylon 4,000 years ago that for a month after the wedding, the bride's father would supply his new son-in-law with all the mead he could drink. Mead is a honey beer and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month, which we know today as the honeymoon. 03/Apr/14 8:44 AM |  |
n English pubs, ale is ordered by pints and quarts... So in old England , when customers got unruly, the bartender would yell at them 'Mind your pints and quarts, and settle down.' . . . It's where we get the phrase 'mind your P's and Q's' 03/Apr/14 8:44 AM |  |
Many years ago in England, pub frequenters had a whistle baked into the rim, or handle, of their ceramic cups. When they needed a refill, they used the whistle to get some service. 'Wet your whistle' is the phrase inspired by this practice. 03/Apr/14 8:46 AM |  |

Everybody. Sue - I thought you might have had some bad rain today. I'm glad my look at the weather map was in error and you got to enjoy the nice weather. We were back in the 40s today. Rain expected for the next 2 days. 03/Apr/14 1:27 PM |  |
there were 3 magnificent Wedge-Tailed Eagles hunting for wallabies (pademelons) in our back paddock this morning. I knew they were there because all the native hens that are usually in the paddock disappeared. I manage to get my best wedgie pic yet. Its still not great, but I'm happy. Its on my page for all to see. 03/Apr/14 1:50 PM |  |
Dottie, the weather was north of us, up in Kansas. We might be getting some storms the next few days. We really need the rain. 03/Apr/14 2:06 PM |  |

all. Jane & I arrived in Canberra about 2:45 P.M. Tricia & her hubby picked us up at the bus station & brought us to their house where Tricia made some delicious scones for us! I, too, am struggling with typing on a Kindle Fire. It's a nice size for carrying with me when traveling, but a real pain to use! 03/Apr/14 5:45 PM |  |
