Congrats, Plum!
Good Maen, everyone! So foggy in SE Michigan that they delayed schools for two hours in some areas!

Good Maen Sudokuland. That darn Weasely clock of mine says 1 out of town for work, but sick, 1 at school, 2 sick on the couch, and 1 on my lap. I got to figure out how to get the sick out of it.

Hi Plum. I am still working on my Angel. Darn EZ pattern. Not a finished edge in sight. I did what any sane mother would do, increased the seam allowance to 3/4 and put in flat felt seams. Of course there was no trim either. Angels need a bit of ornamentation. Not much, mind you, but a simple elegance. Oh the things a mother does for her Angels.

Hi Shiela. I haven't had a good baking day in awhile. Baby is lactose intolerant which put a damper on my baking when I can't lick the spoon. Anything good coming from your oven?

Oh dear. I hope Karen doesn't stop in. That kind of language would send her straight through the roof.

In the past hour I have taken a business call, prepared a document, made a business call, faxed the document, taken care of 80 emails and 160 spam emails looking for correspondance that hasn't come yet, AND I've turned on lights over Little Plum's schoolwork because it's so overcast, called my More...

Jill - you are SO me. Of course you're putting flat fell seams on an angel COSTUME! It's a combo of motherly perfectionism and the knowledge that a well loved child's costume will get more wear and tear than kitchen towels do. And of course you haven't started sewing it until a few days before its needed. I wonder that you didn't put it off to "whip it together" Friday night.
30/Oct/09 1:12 AM

... should that be "a child's well-loved costume"? Either way.

everyone!
Good heaven's, Plum, I am exhausted just reading about your morning!
Let's see....I got up, made the bed, got dressed, had a cup of coffee while I read the paper, and wandered in to sit at the computer. Age has it's privileges!

A massive thank you for all the greetings I received here, on my page, PM,s and not forgetting to mention the e-cards I received. It is really nice to be able to smile midst the thump thump of a lump hammer and the whining of the angle grinder as they cut the blocks to build the end wall of the More...

I must admit, I miss having little kids around at Halloween time. I used to love making up costumes!

You prefer your roast beef unconscious?

30/Oct/09 1:49 AM

My roast beef is done to a perfection and is totally submissive. I cooked it last night in the crock pot and it is browned and tender and falling apart today. The fat is all completely rendered out of the meat.
I was just brushing down the sides in order to pour the juices into a bowl to More...

Kathy - you make your bed in the a.m.? Hmmm. At least I got dressed right away (before cleaning the bathroom). Too many times I put that off until after the cuppa and I don't get another chance to dress for the day until much later! lol

I have just come in from putting up some lights- a fake spider web - for Halloween, and man is it hot in the sun here today. 88F, 31C. Ok Fall, you can arrive anytime.

Plum, why don't you just sit down and have a cup of tea? Go to the shop and buy a disguise for Friday, nip down to the caterers and order in a meal made by someone else, grab a book, put the kettle on and RELAX. Or you will be unconscious, not the roast beef.
