I leave mine up until the weekend after Epiphany, Jan 6th. I'd leave it up through January if the pine needles weren't a fire hazard!

As a 1946 Baby Boomer I am not old.
I would rather think of 'us' as mellow as a mature cheddar, as luscious as a vintage port,as sparkling as a vintage champagne, and, still rocking to the music of the 50's and 60's

You go, girl!

I hate to admit it, but I'm a PRE-boomer!

I'm with you, GannieMo.

For Karen and others,

The Rabbit Story

A small girl went into the petshop, and asked, with a big smile and a lisp, "I want to buy a widdle wabbit."

The shop-keeper thought that this little innocent girl was so wonderful, that he came around from the counter, More...

What's all this 'old' stuff floating around?
I'm technically a 'boomer'. But... my mother is 95 and just slowing down! My grandmother was 97 when she passed. Seems to me I have quite a number of years left and a whole lot of living to do!!!

HI all! No, I have NOT been hibernating although it's certainly cold enough to think seriously about it. I have been working with all those baby boomers who want to keep their brains active. At least I'll be in a job until I retire!

Count me in, Mo! (Even if I suspect that your eyes are getting bad ...)

To quote Shiela, "What's all this 'old' stuff floating around? " Um ... part of that would be me, and I intend to keep on afloatin' for many years to come.

I have also been thinking about new year resolutions...should I become sweet and kind this year with Kathy and Judy? Doesn't fit somehow, does it? - sweet/kind/Kathy/Judy/Fiona in the same sentence. No, I didn't think so either. Crack that whip, girl!

Well, the latest installments in my appliance soap opera:

The new dishwasher is still commanding lots of attention. Will this start making other appliances jealous?

The new refrigerator is up and running, but so is the old refrigerator, as Starr brought home groceries from her More...

everyone!

OUCH! What's that cracking sound?? Oh, hello, Fiona.

So we must go get another phone for Starr, which really means a new cellular family plan and new phones since Little Plum now needs a phone (for safety as she's more out and about with friends now).

We can no longer add a phone to our old Centennial plan due to the at&t buyout (I still More...

Kathy and I are ready and able for "sweet and kind" ... it's the other element in the triad that makes it impossible!
04/Jan/11 2:55 AM

Oh you two ganging up now are you? Cowards.

I don't know what kind of ratings my show will get when the Kathy/Fiona/Judy show is on opposite.

Maybe Plum could use her new word in there - remember 'truel'? Fits better given the context of mutual affection in there.
04/Jan/11 2:57 AM

Let's face it, Fiona ... you are a gorgeous, young, shapely, blue-eyed lass with a somewhat prickly personality ... why wouldn't we hate you?
04/Jan/11 3:01 AM
 |  |

Good heaven's, Plum! How are you keeping your sanity? Way unfair for all that to be going on. I must admit, I am very impressed that you and Burl are able to at least try and fix that washer. I assure you, that would not be going on at my house. And I thought my careening mantel was traumatic!

Keith,

We know what keeps floating to the top.
04/Jan/11 3:04 AM

Turds, Neil??
04/Jan/11 3:04 AM

What?? Did I miss something? How unkind, Judy. Keith is a very nice person. Stop with the name calling!

Judy, Cream is always on the top.

In a blatant attempt to garner Fiona's affection, I have changed my avatar. Too subliminal, do you think? Keep your eyes on the little green box, Oh, Prickly One.

No, no, Batty ... I picture Keith afloatin' in the air ... (scary vision in itself) ... I assume that Neil is referring to water!
04/Jan/11 3:10 AM

Is 'Cream' Neil's wife's name?
04/Jan/11 3:13 AM
 |  |
I know what you meant, Neil ... but, around here, with all of the rain, sewage-laden water floods and flows directly into the ocean ... prompting surfers to complain about the "brown trout" floating in the water!

Ooohhh ... good zinger, Kath!

Judy is now on the San Diego Chamber of Commerce hit list.

Judy,

'brown trouts' are known as 'admiral browns' here.
04/Jan/11 3:21 AM
 |  |

....and the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce is gunning for Neil.

Kathy,

Re Rudy Judy,

The 'Governator' has just left office, so the hit list termination won't take effect.

I have donned my camouflage gear to report that the answer to yesterday's puzzle was: a shopping list.

To carry with them at all times while visiting San Diego or Hertfordshire the reminder goes to: Captain J, Glenn, Colo Jim. The Phantom get 'Honorable Mention' for thinking I was making some sort of potion to do away with my Boss.

Jane, I would appreciate it if you would take the time to correct the spell checker ... that thing has no humor. I couldn't find it because I was looking for it under "Beverages." I think of it as a drink you can chew.
04/Jan/11 3:30 AM

Ok, Keith! In the next edition, I'll put a copy of it in the Beverages section, also.
