Nobody identified my object as a nutcracker (European touture device does not qualify). It is held upright with the narrow taper of the rods down. A nut is dropped inside the rods. The ends are twisted opposite each other cinching the rods until the shell cracks. The shell is removed revealing the nutmeat often still whole. It works best on walnuts, but can be used on many other varieties as well.

Beautiful weather here today. We're heading down to Jacksonville with friends later today for a little shopping and dinner at North Beach Bistro, one of our new favorite restaurants.

Good Maen everyone...off to take my dad to a new cardiologist (don't like the one he's had) - have to drive 2 hours to his place, take him to the appointment and then head home before the Bay Area traffic gets too bad.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Keith - guess cleaning your dirty shoes with a nut cracker isn't so good for the nut cracker!

Correct "Moody Blues" answers yesterday from Greg, Peter, CP, Grasshopper, Heidi, Kathy, Sarah Beth, Lone, HalT and Mr C. Kathy seemed to think the group members were all dead - what a thing to say, just because they belonged to the 60s! They are all alive and one of them still has the group going.

Today's one is an old one but since we recycle jokes I reckon we can recycle riddles too. Answers to the 'stand and deliver' inbox please, with a bonus(a bonus what exactly??) if you can tell me why it's called that.

The following are clues that describe words containing an "ant". More...

Do I sense a sort of expectation in the air that people are lurking awaiting to pounce or am I really all alone here?

The local grain elevator that TM uses to clean his wheat is only cleaning its own grain this week. How dare they! Actually, How DARE they!!!!?????? Now my life is miserable. He is grumpy cause I'm going to town for a haircut. This is not a good time of year. I am also taking drycleaning in, and picking up more books on CD....he has plans for me to be drilling wheat!!!!!

A heck of a lot of trouble to go through to crack a walnut. How about a hammer?

Somewhere in all those bubbles, I guess Fiona actually posted a poozle. Let me give it a little thought......

Keith, I do not think it would crack a macadamia nut!
Cannot get to sleep and need to be up early to catch a train! I will have Laura with me so I do not think she will let me sleep on the train (about 2 hours)

Hot damn, I was going to say nutcracker but I thought it was too obvious! Imagine the marketability of that... Larger versions for hard-boiled eggs. Larger still for cantalopes. Heck, you could even do a smaller one for atom busting!

There's nothing like Keith's nut's...
or is he nuts..?
You decide!

all. Just wondering Keith - where did you acquire your nutcracker & is it something you use regularly?

Jane, hope you & Jaime enjoy your trip to Jax. Our weather is beautiful here, too!

Also, hope Vici's trip to the cardiologist, June's train trip, & Sarah Beth's trip to town go well today. I picture us as a bunch of little ants all around an ant hill. Lots of comings & goings!!! And that makes me think of Angry Ant, Mini Ant, & the rest of that beautiful family. Anyone still in touch with them?

And by the way, where is Neil? Are you lurking out there somewhere, Neil?

Fiona, congrats on your #22 AND a double cp!! What a thrilling day, huh?

Sarah Beth, please forgive me for saying so, but it seems like TM is grumpy very often! He must be a tough guy to live with. I think you deserve better.

Oh well, guess I'll try to be just half as good as Fiona today!
