It's a lovely Tuesday over here!

I emailed to my sister (in Ohio) a photo of the daffodils blooming in my front yard (freesias next, then tulips for the finale) to brighten her day as they are still buried in snow.

Livia,
How can we help? You've been through something that, thankfully, most of us will never have to experience. But, as you've probably seen during your lurking times, people here are good at supporting others.

Yay! My avatar got approved AND I got to turn the page! That plumeria had lovely blooms last year and I'm hoping for an encore this year.

Livia: Welcome to the membership and sorry to hear about the loss of your home.

Jane - I almost remembered it. Just couldn't remember how much sugar. That sure is a lot for a diabetic, but I'll make her one to take home.

Time for me to get ready to go to my brother's house. One and a half hour drive to my youngest daughter's, then she will drive the three and half hours to Frank's. I have to take the van, because it has a bed in it, and I don't drive at night on roads I don't know. I should get back tomorrow sometime..

Glinda - Just thought you should know as you may well be reading this, that Fred (goldfish of the highest standing) has just swam the bath length 10 times. Okay it may take a while to do 'ocean' but I feel we are getting there. Much love to Todd aka Vincent xxx

AWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!

Good Morning everyone around the world!

Guess what? More snow is on the way! We could recieve 5-8 inches this afternoon and tonight. We have had a nice thaw the last coupld of days. Our driveway is down to dirt! Yayyyhhh! Spring has to be right around the corner!

Have a great day/night everyone!

Dorthea - Use Splenda. I substitute Splenda for sugar all the time in baking, and there's no difference in the taste.

Livia, Best Wishes in building up your life again.
Debby, It is warm here in sunny Fla - see you soon I hope down here.
Y'all - Check out the cookbook as Jane put together - It is amazing. I can't wait to try these international flavors!

Carol - I can't wait to "soak" up some of that sunshine.

It's raining here now, but the temperature has dropped 7 degrees, so I fear that it will soon be freezing rain as it is hovering just above freezing at the moment. Lots of flooding between the snow melting and the rain. Can't make it down my driveway!

Dorthea - In rethinking my last comment, I have used Splenda in cakes, pies, etc. where the sweetener in baked in the dessert, but I've never used it melted with butter for the topping of an upside down cake. It's worth the experiment, I think, however!

Jane, great job on the cookbook!

Debby: Sounds like you are going to get more than us. We're supposed to get 1-2 inches. We saw a lot of "lakefront" properties in our area yesterday! The ground was too frozen to soak up the rain.

COL - tried googling your international maths day but didn't find anything for France, sorry!

Shiela - There was a lot of water standing our here also. We are fortunate. Our house sits up high and dry! Our drive-way is 800 feet long and it is all a gradual grade uphill! They are saying North of M59 will get the heaviest snow.

Hey Fiona where did that sunny warmth disappear to? I suppose it is because it is school holidays.

dead right Mo, poor kids have been inside all week! I'm working though, so not too bothered but drove through the snow to work this morning!

Debby - Shiela sounds as if you will be getting the storm we had 2 day ago. We were warm enough it was only rain here but we got several inches. Gotta love the midwest Saturday and Sunday it was in the 70's. Big cold front and it is now 30F.

One day at the entrance to heaven, St. Peter saw a street gang walk up to the Pearly Gates. This being a first, St. Peter ran to God and said, "God, there are some evil, thieving street gang members at the Pearly Gates. What do I do?".
God replied, "Just do what you normally do More...

I googled Livia's book too and am astounded at the price. We would pay probably $15 for the book here! I wonder why there is such a huge difference? I might start buying my books over the internet!!!

Suzy, I'm not surprised at your comment. Book publishers in the USA raised there prices several years ago to reflect a US price and a foreign currency price based on the so-called dollar parity. If you look at a book here in North America it usually has a US price and also a Canadian price (which More...
