G'day folks!

Love your Paraprosdokians, from the end of yesterday's post, Wombat.

Here's one: 'I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather, not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car.'

Apparently, I missed the ECCO craze.
Also, apparently, if a person doesn't know or can't figure out what Aussie slang is, Peter ain't tellin'.

HalT - Hope you and the Mrs. had a love-ly anniversary celebration. 56 years ago on your anniversary - if I remember the story correctly - I was just home from the hospital after being born prematurely.

Sue - I'd been wondering what you were going to do about that patch of missing tiles. Wood flooring.

Well, I'm off to help Skye put in another job application. The opening was just posted .She tried to apply online and something's wrong with the link. So we're hurrying to the pizza place with a printed application and a smile.

Morning all, just a quick visit, it's too cold to get up yet. I got your 1 & 3 answer Plum and I didn't know they were called Paraprosdokians either. I'll post some more over the next few days.

Here are some more Paraprosdokians as well as the ones I posted yesterday.

Paraprosdokians are figures of speech, in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected -- and may be humorous. (Winston Churchill loved them).

all! A public holiday here in West Oz today.

Plum - I didn't end up going swimming with them but did the morning tea with the birthday cake, then joined them last night for dinner.

Here's one for you, Wombat.

If at first you don't succeed... suck harder.

Hope that doesn't send me to the naughty room.

Ah, paraprosdokians! I have a few favorites.....

Evening news is where they begin with ''Good evening'' and then proceed to tell you why it isn't.

Everything comes to those who wait.....except a cat.

Here's one that's rather relatable for many of us:

It has been a busy day and I am tired. Trouble is I go to bed now and I am back up at 2 AM having tea and toast. Last treatment of this cycle tomorrow. CT scan Friday and I will then find out where we go next.

These days my concentration is not good enough to do all these extra puzzles set by Wombat and others. I have always loved doing puzzles. I still do the Sudoku each day and once in a blue moon I still get just under the two minutes.
