There are two extravaganza fireworks displays within reasonable driving distance and I was too hot and tired to head to either to spend 5 hours with a good parking and blanket spot for a 20 minute show. Also, my guest for the month -- let's call her 'Cherry' to go with my Plum -- arrived and I didn't want to leave as soon as she arrived. If Faun had voted to spend the evening watching fireworks I would have gone, but Faun opted to play some board and card games with a USA theme and that suited me just fine.

It's been very slow going since the surgery. I'm glad they warned me it would take a while for the congestion to taper off so I can finally breathe. It's also taking Burl time to adjust to his dentures.
