Welcome back Anne. How was Karratha? Yeah, I know you were back yesterday but then a belated welcome is hopefully better than none at all. Right!

We have our youngest granddaughter again this coming week. I'm taking her for swimming lessons every day. Apparently I am the correct shape to float in the water and look like an island therefore providing a safe haven for those struggling

Thank you BH and Arachnid! Although it was actually Wickham where I was staying. The weather was a bit warm, mainly in the high 40's the first week and then dropped a tiny bit but it was very humid and windy the whole time.
My second Great-Grandson was born the day after I arrived. Good timing! I now have 20month old Isaac and baby Arlo. Both very cute.

Of course that should be 'welcome'

My daughter was working for the American Embassy in Australia when she was expecting her first child. I was so happy when she texted me with the news.

'I'm a grandfather!' I said to my coworkers.

'When was she born?' somebody More...

A woman in labor suddenly shouted, 'Shouldn't! Wouldn't! Couldn't! Didn't! Can't!'

'Doctor, what's going on?' asked the concerned father-to-be.

'Don't worry,' said the doctor, 'those are just contractions.'

It has been finally realized that babies born on holidays are more than likely to be little girls...

The reason is because there is no mail delivery on holidays.

When Mary was pregnant, her five year old, Billy, was utterly amazed and a little bit disbelieving that his sister was growing in his mom's tummy. So one day when the baby was especially active, she asked Billy to place his tiny hands on her tummy to feel the baby kick.

But when he More...

One night, a wife found her husband standing over their baby's crib. Silently she watched him. As he stood looking down at the sleeping infant, she saw on his face a mixture of emotions: disbelief, doubt, delight, amazement, enchantment, even skepticism.

Touched by this unusual display and More...

Sorry I’ve been MIA. I’ve had to mentally get into a different groove. Lots of productive transitions, but I’ve missed being here. I can allow myself to drop by regularly IF I don’t spend much time here.

No problem, Kathy. I don’t mind “running tackle hugs” from good friends! Better than a 22 or a cp any day.

Golly, it’s good to be back. I just sit staring and smile at the screen. My family calls it the Sudoku smirk.

We've recently had many discussions about the devastation in Australia. It's hard enough seeing it in the news, but hearing first hand what is happening is heartbreaking. I'm sure you've seen a lot on TOS, too.

Arachnid is posting a weekly quiz. Wombat may be back with a Wednesday puzzle, too.

Anyone else want to jump in to get Plum up to speed?

I guess I’ll be polite and do my own update. My FIL has pulled through two close calls this year. Twice we were told not to expect to celebrate Christmas with him, but we did and he was in better shape than he’s been all year!

Skye is more than halfway through her cosmetology training. More...
