 maen, All Y'all 07/Jul/11 12:16 AM |  |
Well, I couldn't figure the Irish sausage joke, so I had to google Mitre 10 - it's an Australian hardware store. Learned something. Phantom's learned something, too! Apparently I taught him how to end a sentence with "eh?." 07/Jul/11 12:22 AM |  |
Okay, with a bit of encouragement I sent another try to Fiona's inbox. Hopefully just in time. 07/Jul/11 12:23 AM |  |
Good Maen!Heading down to the Bay Area tomorrow to take my 91 year old dad to the hospital. He's scheduled for heart surgery on Friday. He is in great health (except for the faulty valve) - so we are very optimistic. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks 07/Jul/11 12:36 AM |  |
 Just lovely, Joann! 07/Jul/11 12:39 AM |  |
Cold and windy. One daughter is worried about the big gum trees near her house.Hope all goes well for your Dad Vici. 07/Jul/11 12:46 AM |  |
Joann, I wish I could grow something this lovely on my balcony. Best wishes for you Dad, Vici. 07/Jul/11 12:57 AM |  |
HI all! Coolish today in France but a welcome break from the heat of the summer. I actually get things done on days like this.To the poozle - well, not much success there for the majority, but well done to our mathematical wizard, Mr C, and our...not sure how to describe him...let's just call More... 07/Jul/11 1:20 AM |  |
Beautiful hibiscus. I wish I could grow them, too, but I have 2 brown thumbs. I can raise critters but kill plants if I look at them. 07/Jul/11 1:23 AM |  |
I don't think your answer is as good as mine, Fiona. I said "the moon". It fit nicely in it's current phase. Since when do people bow to coins? At least primitive people worshipped the moon. 07/Jul/11 1:26 AM |  |
I've had an indoor standard hibiscus for the last 13 years...the only enemy they have is red spider which is a damn nuisance during the winter months here.Too hot in our centrally heated homes and they thrive. 07/Jul/11 1:28 AM |  |
If you see a coin on the ground, you bow to it Heidi...well most people do! 07/Jul/11 1:28 AM |  |
Heidi, I said "The Moon," too. People lower themselves when they go to bed, which is usually at night, when the moon is out. I also thought about its current phase, but also thought that since one Side of the moon is always facing earth, that that worked any time the riddle was asked. More... 07/Jul/11 1:33 AM |  |
Here's today's one - too easy...answers to the wiggly inbox please. A hundred feet in the air but it's back is on the ground. What is it? 07/Jul/11 1:33 AM |  |

The second answer I sent in was "inspired" by the inbox name. I thought maybe an envelope with a French President postage stamp. It's a stretch, but most people angle their heads down when applying a stamp or looking at it. I missed that the word for corner in French is coin. More... 07/Jul/11 1:41 AM |  |
Beautiful red hibiscus. Lovely photo Joann.Wishing your Dad all the best ,Vici. May he have a speedy recovery. 07/Jul/11 1:58 AM |  |
 Well put, Plum ... poorly constructed riddle. 07/Jul/11 2:09 AM |  |
My goodness the site is quiet today. Here is a topic starter. We have an abundance of patty pan squash. I want something different than the same ole bake, steam and stuff methods I use. Do any of you have something different? 07/Jul/11 2:50 AM |  |
all. Jerry, good to see you here two days in a row now. Keep that coffee comin' VVici - to your dad on Fri. I'll keep him in my thoughts & prayers. lonewoof - you got the #1 today & reminded me that you were missed on both Phantom's & CG's lists. It's hard to remember everybody. I know I couldn't. 07/Jul/11 2:53 AM |  |
all it is going to be another warm day in So. Oregon - probably in the 90's. While we may actually be a bit warmer than my old stomping grounds in So. Cal. at least we don't have this:* FROM 10 AM PDT THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS EVENING * ABUNDANT MOISTURE COMBINED More... 07/Jul/11 3:15 AM |  |
I dunno if this was ever posted before, but now that the eagles are gone, here's a giraffe being born:http://manneli.com/movies/Nature/Giraffe-Birth.html 07/Jul/11 3:27 AM |  |
Looking forward to the Ted Nugent concert tonight, since I'm working in the Volunteer Booth - I'm done at 6:30 and will be able to watch the entire concert. 07/Jul/11 3:27 AM |  |
For the last few days, 2 fawns have been visiting - they are such a joy to watch. They are adventuress, not staying close to mom but generally are near each other. Cute as can be. 07/Jul/11 3:27 AM |  |
Over the weekend, I worked on the 24 photos I took of the individual paintings of the founding of America that were in the wall collage on the wall of the hall of Liberty (posted last week in my gallery). I printed them out and put them up in the Narthex at Church Suday for an after service More... 07/Jul/11 3:34 AM |  |

I think my body is broke this morning. I slept in an hour and a half longer than usual. The site is home to “mommy stories”, “equine stories”, “bovine stories”, “dog & cat stories”, and “sports stories”. I think I’ll join Sarah Beth and Heidi in posting a “Rural Trials and Tribulations More... 07/Jul/11 3:43 AM |  |
By the way, the trolly avatar is the Jacksonville Trolly. The Ding, Ding & Clang, Clang - refers to what goes on in San Fran. When you hear Clang, Clang - better get out of the way. CG - just because we have different views on politics, doesn't make me a ding-a-ling. I am with Aileen & several others on this site - Dr. Pepper lovers. 07/Jul/11 3:49 AM |  |
Karen - how about boiled and mashed with loads of butter & brown sugar. Jerry glad you are back at the coffee pot - however I prefer my Dr. Pepper for my caffine fix. 07/Jul/11 3:55 AM |  |
Oh, how I would love a nice fountain drink right now.Had one yesterday, but somehow it got hot and flat before I could finish it. Hot, flat Dr Pepper is not a good thing. Also, sodas are very unhealthy when hot. 07/Jul/11 3:57 AM |  |
That is a great idea, Eve. It is something different. 07/Jul/11 3:58 AM |  |
