And here's today's factoid:
It is believed that the first person to popularize the wearing of vests was King Charles II. This is supported by a 1666 journal entry by Samuel Pepys: '[the] King hath yesterday, in Council, More...

Buttons and paper and flowers, Oh My!
I wouldn't look for any symbolism, Heidi. Someone's idea of a crafty collage, I suspect.

The weather guessers are predicting sleet and snow around this area tomorrow. I have to check and see if I have enough food in the house that I don't have to brave the panicked mobs at the grocery store today. Cross your fingers.....

Hope it gets here and gets out, Sue. Monday starts the round of Christmas dinners and festivities for us. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, to be exact.

Well, we're expecting rain today. The sky is gray enough and the temperature may not be low enough for snow, at 37º F (2.7º C) it's cold enough for us!
08/Dec/13 3:24 AM
 |  |

But it's a one time deal here and the temperature is suppose to be rising even as I post this. In the 50's today and tomorrow but it'll go up to the mid 60's afterwards.

We are in the middle of our excitement for the day. A truck blew a tire in front of the house and ended up pretty far in our yard. We have nice rut marks that look like they hit the big tree and kept going. I talked to the guy and he said he was fine. Now Hubby, a few police officers the guy, More...

Good morning everyone. Over cast today, a few showers promised. Nothing as exciting as a runaway truck tyre though, Serena.

The truck is in the yard not the tire. No idea where the rest of the tire ended up. Apparently he just grazed the tree which is fortunate for him because it is big and would have stopped him hard.
