shosho, I think I love you. I'd never heard of Cost Plus. Turns out they have stores within 10 miles of areas I visit on a regular basis... As a matter of fact, Today.............

And, their price is right. Far better than some of the "dedicated" import outfits..

shosho - I just used the Pepperidge Farm TimTams a month ago for a TTSlam and they worked well. I purchased both the caramel (with milk chocolate coating) and the dark chocolate from Target.

Karen - you need to try yerba mate. I mean really give it a try. I didn't like it the first 3-4 cups I tried to be polite and to try something new. BUT, now I like it so much I'll decline most other forms of caffeinated beverages in favor of yerba mate, and it's sugarless and I can sleep when I want to and stay awake when I want to. No jitters or withdrawal headaches, either.

I just used the Cost Plus store locater and there isn't one near me. Maybe an hour or so away, but, if any of you are familiar with the Washington DC area traffic, you'll know why this is not a good thing.

Kathy - so it is 10 miles away?

The small amount of snow that I got on my roof a week ago, may melt today - we are having a heat wave today - It is 35° out at noon and the fog has lifted (at least at the house - looks like the airport 10 miles away is still in fog). Freezing fog for a week with a couple of hours, here & there, of clear blue skies and temps in the 20's.

Kathy, I play CDs in the car - really nice on trips North (where there is no radio reception) and down to So. Cal.

I also research the albums on the internet - to get release dates - found some to be worth more than I expected.

Shosho - let us know if the Tim Tams from Cost-Plus are any good. During Christmas Costco had Chocolate Hazelnut Piroleans. When I went back the week before Christmas they were sold out. If you are into ginger "tea" cookies Anna Ginger Thins are great - Costco carries them for Christmas - I buy several boxes so I can enjoy them all year long.

Well that is a CP - first this year - don't think I had very many last year.

Eve,(if you're still around) it's more like 20 miles. I always laugh at Google maps when it says from my area it is 36 minutes, EXCEPT in traffic. Then it's (a very optimistic) 50 minutes.

When I worked down town LA & they had the Oscars downtown - one time - after 30 minutes in an underground parking lot - I finally gave up at getting out any time soon - parked the car - went for a glass of wine & came back in an hour - then drove home. When the Dodgers had a afternoon game More...

I read that the congressperson, Gifford, was out of surgery and alive. She was holding a kind of meet your congressperson on a corner of a supermarket, to talk with her constituents. When the assailant shot her in the head, the public and the staff apprehended the young man and he is now in custody.

I read that Julian Assange has written an autobiography. Seems that Wikileak is in a bit of trouble financially. Do you suppose someone could get a copy of the book and copy it to the 'Net so we all could read it for free? Would you call that poetic justice?

Unfortunately, a judge and a nine year old girl were killed (possibly more) Others still in surgery. What an unspeakable tragedy. How very sad.

Rayray and Keith They make a hands free typewriter. It's called a secretary. My daughter Crystal is one, and my mother would get a yes or no answer and write a polite letter to go with it. I used to be able to take a letter directly on the typewriter, but my shorthand is ..well... I don't have any.

Keebler makes 'Gingerbread men' at Xmas time, but I haven't seen them later in the year. I always buy eight boxes when I first see them, and eat them until they are gone. Trader Joes has ginger cookies sometimes, but they are not easy to find.
