mAen! 9:35. An interesting shot! Can we be certain that these are the natural colors of the stalagmytes (spelling?)? I don't mean to suggest that the locals would play such tricks with the tourists, but the colors are so unreal that I wouldn't rule out skilled use of a spray can :-)

May be Mother Nature *IS* more inventive than the man!

Ah, good old stalactites (ceiling) and stalagmites (ground)! The only field trip we had in high school was to Linville (NC) Caverns. Quite memorable, not just for its curricular singularity, but because that was the Friday that President Kennedy was assassinated, November 22, 1963.

Jyrki - I too have a bone to pick with PayPal. I reluctantly signed up with them, then my credit card expired before I ever used it. 4.42 - shock I beat my medium time. Jenolan Caves - great place to visit with plenty of batteries for your torch! Gut stuck in them many years ago with no light - nightmare stuff.

Planet Earth program showed many caves about two weeks ago. It was fascinating.
JYRKI: I have hesitated becoming a supporting member for exactly the reason you named. I don't use PayPal because of issues my daughter had.

I took my mother to visit the Jenolan Caves some years ago, when she was 76. After the tour, she told our guide that she'd waited 60 years to see the caves. She'd first learned about them as a 16 year-old and wanted to visit them all her life. It's a nice feeling to help someone realise a 60 year dream. Oh - and the caves (there are several) are spectacular.

Beautiful pic and beautiful caves!! Looks like chocolate dripping down. The worst part about them is the road in. Sort of scary, but worth the effort!!
From memory Kate from Sydney submitted some photos of these caves.

Makes a good jigsaw puzzle ... when I was a child on school holidays in the Blue Mountains and we came to Jenolan Caves, mum often bought us a jigsaw puzzle so that really evokes memories!
