Ah! I missed this photo of mine when it came up on the jigsaws (I only started regularly checking the jigsaws about mid-April - since then I've gone back through the Archives).

Several people researched and posted about May Gibbs, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie and the Big Bad Banksia Men!

Interesting photo, Kate. I haven't seen it before, and have no clue what it is. Dried plant material forming nests? I guess I'll google the "Big Bad Banksia Men".

featured in a Mary Gibb's children's book as "Big Bad Banksia Men"

HalT and Debby, the Banksia is a native Australian shrub which can grow into a respectable sized tree. Its flowers and seed pods are distinctive. I'll give you a reference in my next post.
