mAen! 27:25 pretty fast for me. Sealions are kinda interesting. What do they do with their whiskers? Anyone?
 |  |
Good Maen all! 17:18 Good catch Mija!
 |  |
Finally...
 |  |
One goof, but I finished! We didn't SEE the catch, so we're taking the photographer's word.
 |  |
Good Maen. That was the easiest tough for me in a long time. Thanks to Steve's tutorials, I was able to do it without guesses. yeah!
 |  |
Another grey day here, with a few flakes falling just to tease us. Have a great day/night, everyone!

Sea lion whiskers help in distance detection, which was the basis for scientists to use whiskers/antennae on the Mars Rover. I normally don't know such trivia, but my 8 yr old just did a presentation on this, ah, the joys of being a mom!

'How many fish do you like to have 'Maja' for your brakfast?'

Good maEn to all.
 |  |
No guesses today.
 |  |
Very easy. cats use whiskers to gauge if an opening is wide enough.
 |  |
Sea Lions whiskers contain nerve fibres, and they use them to detect vibrations from prey in the water. They also use them to aid navigation. Their whiskers are very sensitive.
 |  |
15:36! Finally a time I can post! Way too easy for a tough though.
 |  |
Its comming easier. Steve I have been working through your blog. I see that you are often filling in the hidden pairs prior to filling in the posibility matrix. in which of your postings do you discuss how you approach this

J from Tx. I believe the lion comes from their teeth - not something to be bitten by.

Good afternoon to all! Must get a lot of those fish as they're very small.
 |  |
She caught the fish! Mija is how the zoo spells her name - and who am I to argue?! I do know a dog called Maja though.

this from a web site of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game:

'They are called sea lions because they resemble the terrestrial lion of Africa and Asia. Large adult male Steller sea lions have disproportionately large necks and shoulders. This, coupled with longer, coarser hair on the neck and shoulders, gives them the appearance of having manes, as do lions.'

If I can get it, way too easy for Tough. Interested in Dave's question, why look for hidden pairs before cancelling out the effect of locked pairs?

did he catch it?
 |  |
Oh dear, everyone saying it was easy today! Obviously Steve needs to create a remedial blog for poor old me! But at least I get them out in time.
 |  |
I believe Mija is Spanish for daughter and a term of endearment.
 |  |
I believe its actually an abbreviation of 'mi hija'which is Spanish for 'my daughter'. (Prounounced me-ha). Don 't know if that has anything to do with the sealion though.

If one fills in the possibility matrix by hand, then oftentimes hidden pairs are most easily found before placing the possibilities.

The 'easy' proof blog pages discuss how this can be done. The proofs of 2/11, 2/13 and 2/15 are probably where I discuss the idea in the most detail. I think More...
