Can't see any Dinosaurs at the park. Nice view, adding it to my places to go.

possible proof (setting the bar for others to
find simpler paths) of 10/4/06 somewhat tough:

1) Start with 23, UP 28
2) Naked Triple: bcg9=179 => ~dfh9=179, UP 30
3) Locked: de6=9 => ~h6=9
4) XWing: (fh9, fh5)=3 => ~(f8, h6, fh4)=3
soften up the 7's a little with More...

What a great picture!

already a new improved model:

1) Start with 23, UP 28
2) Naked Triple: bcg9=179 => ~dfh9=179, UP 30
3) Locked: de6=9 => ~h6=9
4) XWing: (fh9, fh5)=3 => ~(f8, h6, fh4)=3
5a) a8=7 == a2=7 -- e2=7 == e87=7 => ~df8=7
5b) d2=4 == { d65=4 -- f4=4 == f4=2 -- f8=2 == f8=5 More...

A hurried proof, appears inferior to Pat's:
1) Start at 23 filled - the given puzzle. Unique Possibilities to 28 filled. (UP 28).
2) Hidden pair 36 at fh8 forbids f9=78 and forbids h9=19 UP 30
3a) xwing on 3's at fg59 forbids f48,g46=3
3b) fc on 7's: a8 == a2 -- e2 == e78 forbids More...

Very nice wrap around chain in step 5b Pat. Great set up for the depth 4 chain then in step 5c.
Pats proof is max depth 4. Rating about.67

This is a favorite place for my grandchildren to visit. There is a large cave out of sight to the left and they love to hike, climb, and skip rocks on the river. The photo two days ago showed how green the river can look from aerial views. The coloring of the rocks is truly amazing. The mountain More...

(no time!) Gorgeous picture! I love the color variations!

I've heard that the Green River is a lovely canoe trip. Maybe some day...
 |  |
OK, Pat, where can learn how to translate your proof into something I can understand?
 |  |
Good afternoon to all! Super picture Wilodene! Thanks for sharing it!

Here's my attempt at proving it. It looks like I have some longer chains than either Pat or Steve:

1) Start 23, Unique Possibilities to (UP) 28.
2) Hidden pair 36 at fh9 forbids f9=78, h9=19. UP 30.
3) g9=7 == b9=7 -- b1=7 == d1=7 -- d5=7 == f5=7 -- f5=3 == h5=3 -- i4=3 == i8=3 -- More...

That's a great photo. I'm planning to move to Boise next Spring. I'll have to make a trip down to Dino Park some weekend. My granddaughter Daryne will love it. Thanks Wilodene.

Agree with Ron from California. I have to plod through all the puzzles. If I can actually finish a tough it takes me about 20 to 30 minutes and then when I scroll through the comments, I cannot make head nor tail of the proofs offered. Regardless of this I do not think I would ever be able to get my times to some of the low levels that are achieved. Well done to all those speedsters

Thanks for the detail Wilodean! Beautiful colours and such a bounty of information about the past too it seems!

other place in Utah, very nice pic...!

Wow, what a beautiful picture!

Forgot to set the timer. What is up with all of the numbers? What is that suppose to do? Is it a Math quiz?
 |  |
maEn all. Ron and gwaunboy I am lucky to finish the puzzle let alone figure out what all the different steps mean. If I go for speed then I sacrifice accuracy. Only been doing sudoku a month or so and I am really happy to finish any of the puzzle and I enjoy the photos.
